But as the first calendar year of the new White House regime draws to a close, First Lady Michelle Obama is experiencing the same drop in poll numbers as her husband. She's not elected, of course, and not charged at least officially with making the tough executive decisions that come out of the Oval Office.
As a result, first ladies have typically fared better in different public opinion polls than their more controversial husbands. And now even as the female Harvard lawyer in the family and the one with the famously buff arms, Mrs. O still remains somewhat more popular than her spouse.
(Sarah Palin's favorable poll ratings, btw, have risen steadily in recent months to the mid-40s. But although neither woman holds an elected office, that's something entirely different.)
A new Rasmussen Reports survey finds that 55% of Americans have at least a somewhat favorable opinion of Mrs. Obama. That's down 7 points, or 11%, since November's survey and it's her lowest approval level since holding the Bible for her Democratic husband, Barack, to take the oath of office on that cold D.C day back on Jan. 20.

Neither Obama is running for any office in next fall's crucial midterm elections, of course. But declining approval rates for both could indicate not only a general falling out of love with the couple but further electoral trouble for Democratic campaigns during double-digit unemployment and an increasingly unpopular war in Afghanistan.
Mrs. Obama's highest approval since Rasmussen began monitoring the first lady's public standing last winter was 67% and her previous low was 57%. Fewer than 1 in 3 Americans (31%) now regard her very favorably.

Maybe if she didn’t dress like a 20 yr old when she is in her late 40’s she could win more points. Her latest photo op has her in a white sundress that looks like it came off the juniors rack at Kohls.
Like I care what Bertha Butt’s approval numbers are...if they are going down, evidently a lot of people have seen her in those shorts, defacing Air Force One.
This is what can happen when you have 22 personal aids paid for by the taxpayers yet you still look like your “toned” arms are so long your knuckles are dragging.
She’s ugly, looks and moves like a dyke, 95% of her wardrobe is an embarrassment because it’s hideous, she’s got a mouth on her, no class or tact, and she’s a flaming ant-white racist of the first order.

Not to mention her table manners... or rather, lack of such.
Do you remember that pancake breakfast she was talking with her mouth full and sticking her arms in front of everyone's faces as if she were more accustomed to eating in a prison ward.
We all have flaws so I'm not picking on her for her physical flaws. Clothing worn out in the public arena should be complimentary to one's figure by emphasizing strong points.
Her height could be one of her strong points if she had learned proper deportment. When her hair is done in a soft look, not slicked back and when she isn't scowling she can actually be attractive.
A properly fitted bra, less slouching and clothing designed to minimize her large rear would really help. Ban the boob belts and ditch the current fashion adviser would be a start.

You are right, those belts have got to go! The photo that goes with article has a typical awful example. My mom used to like big old belts like that too, I just hate them. They look awfully uncomfortable.
I don’t understand why the Obamas seem to have no one advising them on any of this “social” stuff. Well, anyone to give them any GOOD advice. They do have that social secretary whatever her name is who was shown in that ridiculous parachute dress during the gate crashing incident.
God! That picture.... I still can’t believe this is our first lady.
She should have changed clothes before she got off the plane.
