Think back to December 2008. Your governor was in handcuffs, accused of trying to sell Barack Obama's Senate seat -- and of shaking down a children's hospital executive for campaign lucre. In response, Illinois politicians passed middling "reforms" that in some ways enhanced their power and diminished yours. For this, yes, they now praise themselves.
Also in 2009, the political heirs of Rod Blagojevich surveyed the abyss of debt they've dug in Springfield and . . . dug deeper. They can't pay today's bills, yet continue to stick taxpayers with obligations to be paid in endless tomorrows. Their motto: "Splurge. Borrow. Repeat."

Please DO NOT misunderstand my reasons for producing these two videos. If folks want to gather together to let them know that we, like Howard Beal in Network are mad as hell and not going to take it any more , its STILL for the time being anyway a relatively free country so we can do that.
All Im saying here is that, especially in tough economic times, there are more EFFICIENT and EFFECTIVE ways to expend our FINITE RESOURCES.
Its not as much fun as sweating on the Mall but there IS a better and less costly — way to scare hell out of them — and you won’t even have to leave home.

They can’t pay the bills because they like so many others stole the money for their own use.
I was reading along, wondering why some mainstream paper like the Chicago Tribune would publish such an article, when I come across this statement:
>>>If you’re just coming up to speed, fine. We’ll help. You — and any underinvolved potential citizens you can influence to vote — need to repair Illinois.<<<
Yep, sure they’ll help. They’ll be there to try and take the anger of the American voter and make sure that the entrenched interests now ruling in our government don’t get targeted and put out of business. These are same fine people who helped us elect Obama.
At least we can see the left’s strategy for 2010 - promote the revolution! Except in their version, expect the result to be a more entrenched leftist rule.
Yeah but a lot of this is still useful - I especially like the portrayal of IL pols as rats.
It appears your videos are just text set to music?
Any chance you can just post the text to your commentary somewhere so people can read it rather than have to sit through the videos?
No, offense, I really liked what I was reading so far. I (and I think many others) just don’t like to be locked into a video presentation of something that works just as well as a web page.
How much does all of this activity connect to Oprah leaving Chicago for California?
In some ways, she is going out of the pan into the fire.
Revolution is fashionable this year. Ahem...
I read this and some of the related Trib articles. Not one word about tossing out the entrenched incumbent party, cleaning house, a fresh start, etc. I didn’t see the word “Democrat” once.
Quite frankly, I saw nothing but hollow, time-worn cliches and empty bluster. I strongly suspect that the Trib is going to launch a grand pretend crusade to try to channel the overwhelming grassroots anger of the voters into unproductive dead ends, so that in the end they can endorse a full slate of the corrupt machine candidates, perhaps with some kind of admonishment that they better not do it again.
After watching this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJzU056ccV4, it’s troubling to see that no representatives came forward to tell the public who Barak Obama was.
It also helps to realize the current massaging and instigations of the black on white racial issue and the Native American apologies of late. There are a lot of obstacles before 2010.
I can only hope that there are others like myself are becoming more aware of this current administration and their czars are desiring for America.
Very nice job, Dick. I wish more freepers would pay attention to the voter fraud piece in section 2.
I will spread the word/.
Sign up to monitor the polling booths!
TY for the kind words.
Yes, if we can keep Obowzo from inserting ACORN — or whatever they call themselves now — and SEIU into the process, we might have a shot.
“Revolution is fashionable this year. Ahem...”
Yup. It sure is.
It’s continuing without letup. The rats have their paws on power, are “changing” the country and will stay in power with a hardcore contituency that laughs at their antics. With the help of “brilliant” independents, ACORN-type organizations and a soon-to-be internal security force, they’ll be in power for a long time to come.
IMHO
They think they are influential enough to be THE community organizer in Chicago.
