Left-Wing Frustration Shocking Internal Anger At Obama
The Business Insider ^ | 12/27/09 | Joe Weisenthal

Barack Obama was never the progressive ideologue many of his supporters hoped he'd be. He ran as a fairly centrist, cautious candidate, and that's how he's governed.

Though to his credit, he's been office for less than a year, and he's already decided to blow most of his political capital on a party-line vote to reform healthcare, something his predecessor George W. Bush never dared to try with, say, Social Security.

But because healthcare doesn't include a public option, thus leaving the for-profit insurers to make a fortune on the great insuring of America, and because Wall Street reform seems to have faded into memory, and because Obama's Afghanistan strategy is the same as the last guy's, a growing faction of the left is seriously angry at the President.

Nowhere is this more evident than at the popular "netroots" site Firedoglake, which has taken to teaming up with Grover Norquist (of all people) to attack The White House.

Site contributor Gordon Ginsburg writes:

When he confronted a world-wide economic collapse not of his making last winter, BHO and his team facilitated the deployment of bailout packages to industries and financial institutions judged "too big to fail." These bailouts supplemented the TARP monies being disbursed to big banks that had been initiated by his predecessor. Though some market economists decreed that these "too big to fail" enterprises should have been allowed to do just that, the President wisely decided to immediately stop the bleeding in order to avoid catastrophic consequences down the economic

As banks and markets stabilized, attention turned to getting the consumer economy back on track, with arguments more or less boiling down to laissez faire versus massive government intervention. BHO’s decision to embrace modest stimulus enraged libertarians and conservatives who wanted to let the Free Market reign

They are referring to Obama’s lack of listening to the anti-war and LGBT-equality activists.

But aside from that Obama is still a leftist.

Won’t disagree with you there. The hard left isn’t alone in being angry at that charlatan.

Defining all current insurance companies simply as “for-profit insurers” is terribly wrong.

They have to srevice debt, pay property taxes, and pay dividends to those pensions you all are contributing money to, whether you wish to or not thru your union.

The Government can operate at a loss, because they just keep printing money or taxing the citizens.

There will be absolutely no proper accounting of anything the government does in health care.

The current officials of Medicare & Medicaid have allowed perfectly able people to drain the system for years with a master list of imaginary ailments.
I have seen a number of very questionable recipients of Medicare/SSI/and other government handouts manage to skate for a number of years, whining about ‘how much they struggle to live’ when they were getting more in handouts than I got with full time working, and they also were living with Mommy & Daddy.

Scam operators—all of them.

Don’t forget all those TV ads for your “FREE SCOOTER”, either. You- the TAXPAYER— are paying for all those items!!!

Obama ain’t what we thought he wuz.”

NObama is exactly who many of us thought he was and IS.

The only surprise for many of us is the breathtaking speed with which he has changed contract law- taken legitimate holdings from lenders to various industries—taken stock shares from investors—ordered how the private sector can pay their ‘bankers’, when he lets Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae pay huge bonuses to their people—freezing Social Security to millions of retirees, saying there is no “COL increase” while giving every Federal employee an across the board 2% increase.

A Federal employee making $85,000 a year plus benefits gets a far larger increase at 2% than I would have gotten at just over $12,000 a year on Soc Sec.

He is a liar, and is and was an imposter for the position of USA President from the first jump.

NOBASMA IS EXACTLY WHO WE THOUGHT HE WAS. AN EMPTY SOCIALIST SUIT. Rev. Wright was a very big clue- along with Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dorn.

The delusion of this author is beyond disturbing. Is there not any aspect of the left that remains firmly anchored in reality or are they all a completely unsalvageable as human beings?
