An opposition website said eight people were killed in clashes between pro-reform protesters and security forces in Iran on Sunday.
Opposition leader Mirhossein Mousavis nephew was among the dead, an adviser to Mr. Mousavi said.
It seems as though the writers of this proclamation are familiar with our Declaration of Independence.
As if the greatness of this country and its founding documents do not positively effect and give guidance to others around the world..!! The libs are such conceited fools.
Well, I’m sure it is the ghost of George Washington and our Founding Fathers leading this movement.
Wait, no I’m not.
I predict if the Iranian government falls, it will be replaced with something worse. Our revolution is rather singular in that it actually did lead to better conditions for the participants. Most don’t. Now, I’m personally for the revolution as we’re going to have to deal with them sometime, no matter who is leading Iran. And it is possible it could lead to massive, positive changes. But I wouldn’t bet on it.
And ignoring that...has no one considered just WHO exactly might be the moving force behind the anti-gov forces? Well, it just has to be organic and not be any of the surrounding Muslim countries, or the terror orgs they contain, right? Yep...its just a bunch of fed up freedom fighters. They’re busy drafting their constitution right now.
I don’t see Nutjob lasting much longer. Doesn’t his primary support come from Ayatollah? And doesn’t Ayatollah basically have one foot in the grave already?
What will most likely happen is there will be internal conflict between the mullahs, and to try to keep some sort of peace, a more moderate, less religious based government will come to power.
Remember, Iran has an operating government and all the bells and whistles that go along with it. Government workers are not going to allow any radical change towards an even more religious based hierarchy that puts them at
risk.
The biggest question: the Armed Forces
Nope.
But look at the history there.
The overthrowing of the Shah was not out of some deep desire to be more Islamic. It was a reaction to the abuses and the crap being pulled by the Shah’s secret police forces.
The Islamic interests came out and filled a vacuum. That’s about it.
And now, the same types of crap and abuses are happening under the mullahs and the Revolutionary Guard.
I think Iranians are aware and do not want to see what happened to Lebanon happen in Iran.
interesting timing to say the least . . .
FYI
Thanks for the ping, jhpigott, and *ping* to all the others...
“non-support for the regime rather than direct opposition”
non-support IS direct opposition in a totalitarian state. This is huge.
I wonder if BiBi sent them a message through the Saudi’s,,,
“Clean up your mess or we will.”...
“The problem is all inside your head”, Liberty said to me
The answer is easy if you take it logically
I’d like to help you in your struggle to be free
There must be fifty ways to leave your Leader
She said it’s really not my habit to intrude
Furthermore, I hope my meaning won’t be lost or misconstrued
But I’ll repeat myself, at the risk of being crude
There must be fifty ways to leave your Leader
Fifty ways to leave your Leader....”

Agreed.
A rebellion now will just replace one Islamic Republic with another. What’s needed is for the people to get disgusted with Islam itself.
RE:
“...This should frighten tyranny minded Moslem usurpers EVERYWHERE. *cough*”
Methinks I get your drift. That cold could be catching.
If I’m not mistaken, I believe that it already is.
“Sic Semper Tyrannis.”
Or so we might hope.
We live in interesting times; stay tuned, y’all!
Yet still no word about taking Islam out of their government, or ending their nuke program. As soon as Israel strikes those nukes sites, the Iranians will unite against a common enemy.
could be . .
if this tweet has any accuracy, then Kahmeni and co. may indeed believe a coup is either possible or in the works . . .
twitter report:four planes ready on standby at airport to take Khameni & co out- Regime is FINISHED-Army must join the Nation
Here’s the link, scroll down a tad:
Let me know when they takeover and end their nuke program. Or stop the persecution of Christians there. Wishful thinking is meaningless.
