Napolitano: "The system worked"
DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano said that the thwarting of the attempt to blow up the Amsterdam-Detroit flight this week demonstrated that "the system worked."
Asked by CNN's Candy Crowley on "State of the Union" how that could be possible when the young Nigerian who sought to set off the bomb was able to smuggle explosive liquid onto the flight, Napolitano responded: "We're asking the same questions."
Napolitano added that there was "no suggestion that [the bomber] was improperly screened."
Orwellian... Simply ORWELLIAN...
Clearly the screening practices did not work.
(unless you are on the side of the Jihadists and WANT the plane to get blown up !!!)
All I can say is that I am really glad he hasn't eaten birthday cake yet, or he might be accused of not caring. What a bunch of hypocritical scum bags (The MSM).

Exactly. Our culture, civil and otherwise has decayed to a point that the elites have no fear of being held responsible. PC rules the day. This will eventually result in chaos that puts the World Trade Center in the shade. Sooner rather than later most likely.

The passengers got very lucky because the bomb malfunctioned.
The quick actions of the passengers did prevent this joker from getting a second chance.

Obama, et al, are worried about the political ramification according to Fox News Sunday panel. So, they are going to 'get ahead' of the political fallout by putting out talking points and people like Napolitano to put a stop to it. Screw the security of the country!
That is why they are claiming it was a 'lone terrorist' not connected to Al Queda even though the terrorist said he was connected to them!
What was most appalling to me was Robert Gibbs’ statement this morning. He said the “president” is reviewing the terror watch list policies that have been in place for the past couple of years.... again - this so-called president is not taking responsibility for something on his watch. Amsterdam officials said the US cleared the passenger list. How does Gibbs explain away the terrorist dad’s warning just 6 months ago?

Absolutely infuriating, isn't it? We aren't going to let them get away with this. We must keep this story alive and demand answers as American citizens at risk. How easy is it to get this liquid bomb on a subway or commuter train?
