Napolitano: "The system worked"
DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano said that the thwarting of the attempt to blow up the Amsterdam-Detroit flight this week demonstrated that "the system worked."
Asked by CNN's Candy Crowley on "State of the Union" how that could be possible when the young Nigerian who sought to set off the bomb was able to smuggle explosive liquid onto the flight, Napolitano responded: "We're asking the same questions."
Napolitano added that there was "no suggestion that [the bomber] was improperly screened."

By saying “the system worked” in this case, she is making a very strong argument for arming every citizen, as it was THEY who took control of the situation, and NOT the govt.
And the truly sad part is that she does not even see this.

This will be in a campaign ad in 2010 and 2012. The ineptitude is stratospheric. I wish I could believe that, but with the likes of John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Olympia Snow, Susan Collins...(unfortunately, I could go on & on & on...) - I wouldn't count on that.
Now Palin, Bachmann or DeMint might have the balls to do it.

The only thing that didn’t work here was the terrorists bomb. If it had actually gone off more sucessfully, Napalitano would be telling us the center fuel tank on flight 253 must have had a malfunction.
