You think that now, just wait. If this Obamanation passes...
My Dad, who is 73, is scared spitless about this travesy, and I’ve NEVER seen him afraid before...
Then all politicians over 60 should get the he11 out of government? Preferably without retirement.
(Except, of course, the libtard demonrats. They are superior at any age. /S)
Who is this stupid jerk?
All we need to do to find out how Obamacare will treat seniors is to look at the people he associates with — in this case his senior health care advisor Zeke Emanuel.
It’s not looking good for old people. We struggle to survive all our lives, to succeed in life and become old, and the government robs us of our rights, money, property, and dignity.
Everybody will be a senior, so this is the cat eating his own tail to spite himself.
Read Dr. Daniel Callahan’s work, and tell me where they’re going to get 500 billion dollars of Medicare cuts without rationing. I can tell you right off they’ll get no savings from electronic files. It takes longer to chart with them then without. Most hospitals have already cut to the bone as far as staffing. Only way to cut costs is to cut treatment.
The east Germans allowed their seniors to emmigrate to west Germany once they were past working age. This saved the commies lots of money. The west Germans took those seniors in and paid them a pension. My great aunt was one such person.
NO, Seniors are the ObamaNations new Jews. There, fixed it.
I think this dishonestly depicts the attitude in America towards Judaism.
America has had cultural chaos in the past, no doubt. Slavery, the wave of Irish immigrants, the Chinese, the Japanese during WWII, the current wave of Mexicans.
But to somehow make a statement that compares America to Nazi Germany is outright slander. It almost sounds like the author is striving to benefit by the suffering of older Americans.
I thought it might be a bit over the top until I read it, too, but I think there's more than a little truth to it. Like the Jews, seniors are a group that it is easy to single out and target, and like the Jews, they are being singled out in order to demonstrate the state's power to exert total control and to decide the worth of individuals and groups. Like the Jews, also, they are going to be a convenient focus for hatred, since what Obama is best at, son of evil that he is, is stirring up hatred and resentment.
I had a horrible thought while making coffee a minute ago. What if Obama was reelected? Oh, no, I thought. Surely Americans would throw the bum out. But what if democrats and Acorn and affiliates stole enough votes to ensure his continued rule? State after state would trickle in ‘found’ ballots, illegal alien votes, and military, absentee ballots deliberately not counted. You know the drill as well as Al Franken and the dumbbells in Minnesota. How in God’s Name do we stop it? (Notice I didn’t even mention the MSM and expected character assassination of whomever the republicans run.)
If you’re in your 50s, you are soon to be a “senior” and you should realize that the seniors Obama has in mind are essentially us, the Baby Boom generation (born 1946-1965). Most of the truly elderly, product of the preceding generation, will probably be beyond the reach of Obamacare by the time it is fully cranking.
It is true that the “Greatest Generation” got way more from Social Security than they ever paid in, and that they did tend to be very statist and increasingly left-wing in their voting patterns, and that their political pressure group, AARP, was an eager hand-maid to Obama. On the other hand, Baby Boomers have paid Social Security all their lives, at increasing rates, but stand to collect very little on it when they start to retire in the next few years; and even though Baby Boomers have been very prosperous and contributed huge amounts to the Treasury, Obama doesn’t want them to clutter up the works and stand in the way of the truly deserving, government officials and approved groups.
But it really doesn’t matter. No group deserves to be marked for extermination, even if they somewhat brought it on themselves. It sounds to me like Obama’s encouragement of hatred and resentment has struck root with you, but even in your own self-interest, you should rethink that.
Jews were the canaries in the mine, so seniors should wake up and understand they’re in the same cage. And from the seniors I’ve spoken to the last six months, they do indeed know what’s going on and are scared to death of Obama and his pals.
I’m afraid the electoral process will be so corrupted even by November 2010 that we’ll have a hard time throwing out the corrupt Dem Congress, let alone trying to get rid of Obama two years later. By then, the process will be like “elections” in any dictatorship, just eye-wash.
Lock and load. Its gonna get ugly.
There's a lot I can agree about with that statement. My last 'report card' from SS said I paid in over $107K with my employer kicking in the same. Medicare taxes were about $27K, employer also the same. I won't be eligible for the minimum age SS for two more years. I doubt it will be there by then.
In contrast, many of the 70, 80, 90 y.os paid pennies per week for their payments; they have certainly reaped the benefits. However, what is really killing SS are disability payments; take a trip to your local SS office and see the type of people there - it won't be blue-hairs.
bump for later reading. Thanks, Cindy :)
Indeed. I was raised to respect my elders. To draw from the wisdom of their accumulated years. Now, I don’t know where the line is drawn in age where one acquires elder status, but age 56, it’s not far off.
What is it going to take to bring a large enough force together to show the bastards in D.C. that we mean business and ain’t gonna take it any more.
The time for action is here and this 56 year old still has some fight in him.
Yes, I have noticed this myself. I have stayed out of these discussions pretty much till I passed 65. I know people who essentially "retired" before they were fifty, and who were perfectly capable of working.
Another poster mentioned how someone becomes radioactive in the employment market when they reach fifty. One reason is that in a small company populated by people with a median age of 32, the addition of someone over fifty raises the risk pool age and drives up health insurance premiums for everyone.
The administration's attitude regarding the Useless Eaters is not helped by the attitudes of some people my age who perversely enjoy being in peoples' way. We have all seen them...The ones who, when driving at the speed limit, see someone behind them and slow to a crawl, the crank in the supermarket demanding cash for a thirty five cent coupon as the line grows and grows. At these times, despite my age, I understand the hostility. I want to kill them too. But only for that moment, figuratively, not as part of a systematic social agenda.
