Christmas Day evening at Walter Reed, Week 245, December 25, 2009
Wet, Icy and Standing Tall
FRONT GATE NOTES
Not just another Friday Night at Walter Reed
After four and a half years of Friday night... support the troops rallies at Walter Reed, the DC Chapter of Free Republic, lurkers and friends, were way overdue for a Friday evening on Christmas Day (and next week on New Years Day).
And so it was last night on a wet, icy dark evening.
It was quiet with only one ambulance arriving, Very few cars or pedestrians going in or out of the front gates, and of course, traffic on Georgia Avenue was very light.
The DC Chapter of Free Republic was at cadre strength on this holy day. And the weather reports of rain mixed with freezing rain prevented several people from joining us.
Next Friday on New Years Day evening, we invite you to join us to start the New Year by supporting the troops and their families.
Given the uncertainty of the new administration, we all need to maintain and continue our support of the military.
On Christmas Day, we think of, and pray for our brave soldiers and their families for their service for our country.
And may God bless America.

Four moonbats down the block Had to stand on the sidewalk behind a two foot high snowbank. With the foggy darkness and rain, they werent very visible.

Thank you. You’ve been swamped with the Walter Reed and Olney AARs the last several weeks. Hope it helped your Christmas be a little more cheerful.
Speaking for my self though, can I exchange the cat hug for a hug from a Philadelphia Eagles cheerleader?
[Mr] T
Don’t be sorry. You’ve helped us support the troops many times. I do not know of any out-of-area FReeper, well I guess I can, ConcreteBob, Doctor Raoul, GunsAreOK and Just A Nobody, who traveled close to 3 hours to get here, that has been more supportive than you. But you definitely travel the furthest.
You are all stalwarts of Walter Reed. Thanks.
[Mr] T
PS - bad weather again for New Years Eve but Friday looks good. We’ll have to see how deep the snow is. [Mrs] T, you and I really need to get together before you head out. Gunny and his family are in town till Wednesday AM
[Mrs] T, says NOPE.
LOL, [Mrs] T is right, I’ll have to get my hug from her.
