SAT EVE UPDATE: U.S. Embassy in Nigeria was warned months ago by father of bomber

Prior to departing Amsterdam for Detroit on Christmas Day, the complete passenger list was submitted according to normal procedures for U.S. government authorities to scrutinize. While the accused bomber, Abdul Arouk Abdulmutallab was listed for the last two years as a person who was either involved in terrorism or had suspected ties to terrorist organizations, he was permitted to board the flight with a one-way ticket to Detroit. Part of the investigation into the incident will be to determine why he wasn’t on a no-fly list maintained by governments around the world.
