Man on Flight to Detroit Claims al Qaeda Ties; Obama Tightens Security
WASHINGTON -- U.S. prosecutors charged a 23-year-old Nigerian man with attempting to carry out a Christmas Day terrorist bombing on a Northwest Airlines flight on its approach to Detroit.
Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, was charged in a federal criminal complaint with placing a destructive device on Flight 253.
Federal Bureau of Investigation analysts, in preliminary tests, determined the device contained PETN, also known as pentaerythritol, a highly explosive compound, the Justice Department said. In addition, FBI agents recovered what appear to be the remnants of the syringe from the vicinity of Mr. Abdulmutallab's seat, believed to have been part of the device. PETN is the explosive that shoe bomber Richard Reid used in his failed 2001 attempt to bring down an American Airlines flight from Paris to Miami. Mr. Reid was convicted of terrorism charges and is serving a life sentence in federal prison.

Yada, yada, yada. I have some ocean view property in Arizona and a bridge for sale. This guy's own father turned him in to the US Embassy six months ago, but nooooo, he keeps his VISA and is cleared to fly on an American plane into Detroit, USA.
Worse then that, another “criminal trial” this time in the Detroit venue.....the corruption of money, law and morlaity continues.....

How sad for a young person to be so misguided to attempt such a thing.
He needs the same life sentence given Richard Reid. Less would be evidence against Obama, so I doubt he will let that take place.
Hasan at Ft. Hood has been charged with capital murder, rightly so.
If Obama followed through and got those two convictions, it would be evidence, politically speaking, he is not weak on national security.
But closing Guantanamo and trying the 9/11 leader in New York is a huge exposure for Obama.
And these two incidents open the door on bungled intelligence measures, happened on Obama’s watch, etc.
The GOP leaders should hold shadow hearings on what went wrong, just like the dems did a few years back.
How long before they blame Bush?
