MONTREAL December 26, 2009 -- Air Canada advises passengers travelling to the U.S. that due to enhanced government security measures air travellers should arrive early at airports to allow extra time to clear security screening. Passengers should also expect flight delays, cancellations and missed connections, and limit themselves to a single piece of carry-on baggage.
Air Canada recommends passengers travelling to the U.S. to arrive early at the airport for their flight in order to allow adequate time for additional personal searches. Under new rules enacted by Transport Canada and the U.S. Transportation Security Administration, passengers and their carry-on baggage will be subject to full searches both at airport screening points and prior to boarding at the aircraft gate area.
As a result of the added security precautions, passengers should also expect delayed and cancelled flights as well as missed connections. Air Canada will endeavour to transport passengers to their destination as quickly as possible and rebook passengers who miss their connections at no charge. While these measures directly affect only flights from Canada to the United States, domestic and international flights may also experience delays due to airport congestion and delayed aircraft. For information on a flight's status please consult www.aircanada.com.
In addition, new rules imposed by Transport Canada will limit the amount of carry-on baggage to one item per person travelling on flights from Canada to the United States. Existing checked baggage rules remain in effect. For details on checked baggage allowances, please consult http://www.aircanada.com/en/travelinfo/airport/baggage/index.html.
"The safety of our customers and staff is our number one priority at Air Canada," said Duncan Dee, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "Our operations teams will be working closely with airport and government authorities to minimize any inconvenience to our customers and to ensure that our customers reach their destinations safely and comfortably."
New rules imposed by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration also limit on-board activities by customers and crew in U.S. airspace that may adversely impact on-board service. Among other things, during the final hour of flight customers must remain seated, will not be allowed to access carry-on baggage, or have personal belongings or other items on their laps.
More information for customers on affected flights, including options for rebooking cancelled flights online and updates on delayed baggage tracking, is available at www.aircanada.com.
How will the flight attendants react when you hand them a air sickness bag full of urine?
The more this goes on, the less I want to fly. I’m about ready to put myself on the no fly list so I don’t ever even need to be subjected to the cattle car crap.
That would have the most effect on birth control of anything previously known to man.
It would take months for the horniest of men to get over that.
Me: Tell me something, how many of those you listed has been caught trying to blow up something in the US?
You: Gee, Johnny Walker, Adam Gadahn, etc.
Me: REALLY? What were they involved in blowing up in the US? Who is the etc?
Me:...lots of older white men women looking to bring down planes, you think?
You: Here you demonstrate your lack of thinking......two older white women brought down two Russian jets by hiding bombs in their bras.
Me: REALLY? Here I demonstrate my lack of thinking? Did you get one of those shitty Google translations? What were they involved in blowing up in the US? To which US transportation disaster does this refer? And, no, my wife doesn’t speak Russian, so she might get a pass. We board with American documents...do you?
ME: ...but I know the difference between a Mexican and an Arab..
YOU: Really? I guarantee you can’t tell, visually, which is which.
ME: Visually, I CAN tell. Their features are NOT the same, although where you come from, I suppose they might. And what are you suggesting, that VISUALLY is the only way someone can be screened at an airport?
Who the hell are you to call ME naive and stupid? You answered with nothing that referred to US air transport, but a rote spew of DU agitprop.
Go back to DUmmieleand.
So, I give you examples the negate EVERYTHING you say and you want to live-or-die on the basis that they have not done this in OUR country YET.......Our borders are soooooo secure!
Good idea, only look for arab males and let the rest of the terrorists in.

Hahahahaha...p*ss off, jerk. You’ve got nothing.
I'm, just happy you are not in charge of security because the holes you leave are wide enough to drive a truck filled with explosives through.
Mature name-calling, by the way.
And what exactly do Muslims look like? Bosniaks look just like any other Slavs; the bloke who tried to blow up the Northwest/Delta flight yesterday looks just like other Nigerian, including the Christians in the south of Nigeria; the members of Abu Sayef look just like any other Filipinos; the nitwit convert who blew himself up outside the OU football game looked just like any other American kid.
And I’m sure all of the Arab Christians who fled Muslim persecution for the United States will so appreciate being persecuted by the TSA for having similar skin and hair color and bone-structure to their erstwhile persecutors. (Despite imprudent, nay, downright foolish, imigration policies that have let lots of Muslim Arabs into the U.S. in recent years, most Arab-Americans are still Christians.)
No, focus on Muslims, period.
Do we at least get some sort of “sanitary barrier” for the seat so we don’t sit in the previous passengers’ “leavings”?
Everything known about this POS fits the muslim terrorist profile. Why was he allowed on the plane? Because no one wants to be accused of “Profiling”. It is time we forgot about PC and profiled all of ‘em. And if a few Christian’s get caught in the profiling, it’s better than sacrificing 279 people, or however many were on that flight. And if you want to separate the Christians from the Muslims, offer each a ham sandwich and watch it being eaten. Still don’t know - ask them to piss on a copy of the Qur’an.
And get every f’n musey out of all airport details, security or otherwise. Especially in Detroit. It is time to get serious about this evil muslim threat.
And while at it, get the muslim out of the White House.
The perp should have been prevented from flying because he was a radical Muslim.
My objection to your previous post was to the “looks like” bit.
I accept your objection, though I think it is a lot better for the country to inconvenience a few Arab Christians than to pick on 70 or 80 year old grandmothers because it is “PC” in the eyes of the evil left bigots running things now - while they let those who “fit the profile” walk right by and onto the plane, again because it is “PC” not to “profile”.
