Roy Rogers and his trusty steed Trigger may have come to the end of their "Happy Trails" - television's most famous horse is going on the auction block, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.
The beloved golden palomino's home, the Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum, has closed - doomed by bitter family feuding, greed, mounting debts and IRS demands.
Trigger - stuffed in a familiar pose, rearing majestically on hind legs - will join Dale Evans' horse Buttermilk, their beloved German shepherd Bullet and other Rogers memorabilia in bidding that's expected to reach into the multimillions of dollars.
Fans around the world were stunned by the news that the museum in Branson, Mo., abruptly closed its doors on Dec. 12 after being open to fans for 42 years.
"Negotiations are underway for Trigger, Buttermilk and Bullet to be sold at auction in New York next summer," an insider told The ENQUIRER. "The IRS has valued Trigger alone at $1 million - not bad for a horse Roy paid $25,000 for when he was alive!

This wonderful Christian couple have to be spinning in their graves
predictable!
Roy & family certainly were/still are highly visible Americans, and....
My Saturday afternoon heroes.
I met him once, when I was little, at a gun club. He wasn’t very nice and didn’t even want to give me an autograph. I also remeber how squinchy his eyes were. I never forgot and I never liked him after that. I was so disappointed.
I ran the numbers to find the interest rate on $25K over 58 years to get to $1M.
It’s an interest rate of 6.56675% per year. Not that tough to get today.
I was never the biggest RR fan either. Allan “Rocky” Lane was higher on the scale.
doomed by bitter family feuding,

I am very sorry. I believe they were very dedicated and devoted parents.
I agree with you totally. I ran into him at the American Royal in Kansas City. Actually encountered him in a hallway and he was extremely rude. He was all about image and nothing about being an actual Christian.
Amazing how things stick with you. I never did care much about RR or all the fuss over him.
Being a Christian is about: If you cant say anything good about someone. Don’t say anything. Espaecially when they are dead and cannot respond.
I live 1 block away and thought it was odd at the time of closing. (a little early for Branson)
Thank God for the National Enquirer. They must have been tracking Vince Vaughan. He was here last week.
You guys have really busted my bubble on this Christmas morning. Gee whiz, a favorite childhood memory down the tube. :) Oh well, Flicka and Sky King and Lone Ranger are still there.
no wonder our kids are in such bad shape now. Look at the trash on television, sex, homosexuality etc
“My Saturday afternoon heroes.”
Don’t forget those weekday after school half hour serials; Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Lone Ranger, Cisco Kid, Captian Corbett (little space ships with strings visible), Tarzan, then can’t forget Little Rascals. Wow, now you know how old I am - I’m old...
I met him once too, when I was about 9. I handed him a Roy Rogers paper doll to sign and he did and was very pleasant and I think charmed by the doll. I have no idea what happened to that paper doll.
I can still picture my bro and myself sitting in front of the little brown radio listening to Sky King.
Lot’s of my heroes were sometimes jerks to fans. Pete Rose the baseball player, whose determination I admired greatly, was that way. It doesn’t mean that you don’t learn things from watching them.
