Salvation Army major shot dead in front of 3 children

By The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

A Salvation Army major was fatally shot in front of his three children Thursday afternoon as he walked into the the organization's community center in North Little Rock, authorities said.

Around 4 p.m., two black men dressed in black approached Philip Wise, 40, of Maumelle outside the community center at 1505 W. 18th St., Pulaski County Coroner Garland Camper said.

Wise’ children — ages 4, 6, and 8 — were walking with him when the men came up to them, police said. His wife, Cindy, also a major in the Salvation Army, was inside the center at the time and called 911.

One of the men pulled a gun, demanded money and then shot Wise, police said.

Police ask that anyone with information contact them at 758-1234.

Actually, what will happen to them is a few years down the road, a Democrat governor will quitely either pardon or release them on parole.

Of the total that are sentenced to life, very few die in prison. Most are released and most return to their old trade upon release.

He would have been put under the jail.

"The two subhumans that shot him are NOT unique rather they are commonplace. You must be looking for them at all times and have a plan to win an encounter with them. Even if the means having your hand on you gun around them"...

"Just make sure you are not a victim."

Worth repeating.

Nope. That works only if the vicyim happens to be Black and the perp is White.

As the great Jesse Jackson is said to have remarked, “Black people cannot hate.”

When I was younger, I used to think nothing of going into the bad part of town to help people. Sometimes in the process of trying to help someone I would meet their friends and neighbors, who I thought were kind of scary.

Looking back, I guess I was lucky that I was never robbed or beaten up or killed.

These days, being older and (somewhat) wiser, and having read far too many of these kinds of stories, I am not inclined to help people in that fashion. I figure that is what they have government social services for.

Prayers for this man of God who gave his life trying to help people.

Now he's in Heaven, but his wife is now going to have to continue to live without the love and companionship and support of her husband and the father of her children. And the young children are going to have to live the rest of their earthly lives without the love and guidance of their father.

Prayers that the wife stays strong and is able to support herself and the children and does not turn bitter or have her ability to function destroyed from severe depression because of this.

And prayers that the children, who are now without their Godly and loving father. May they be somehow able to weather all the trials and tribulations of growing up to become the kind of adults that they would have become had their father not been killed.

Prayers indeed for this man’s family at this horrible time in their lives.

God rest Philip Wise’s soul!

I fail to see the difference between this event and “the one’s” plans for Amerika.

Rob the rich/caring US citizens per the black ones in our House White and then kill them in time with the take over of the medical system.

Hey Little Rock must’ve gotten some of the Katrina escapees. We always hear of Houston, but Little Rock maybe second.

Prayers up for this good man, Philip Wise. His family are also in my prayers today.

Having spent three weeks in Biloxi shortly after Katrina, and working with a number of different groups, I cannot say enough good about the Salvation Army. They were able to provide what was needed without the insanity of goverment red tape. The stories I could tell... Thank heavens for the Salvation Army.

The two who killed this good man have done more damage than they can ever imagine. They will pay and it will not be pretty. The sooner the better.

amom, you were within 2 hours of me after Katrina! That storm hit us too. Small world, huh.

I just can’t get over the senseless and monsterous act of murdering this good man in front of his wife and children on Christmas Eve.

The Salvation Army is the one charity we still give to as generously as we can because the money is spent where it’s supposed to be spent: on people in need!

Doing a lot of praying this Christmas. Such brutality in our nation. I see you have pinged me to an update about Deputy Mundell. I’ll go check that now.

C’mon B-mom, Obama voters need to do Christmas shopping too, you know the old saying, ‘they shop until you drop’.

Really; it is just too much. These people are educated to be ‘victims’ of the worst kind. . .absolutely an evil ignorance at work. We need to throw away the ‘keys’ on these people.

Re your post 15, yes indeed, there is an enormous difference between Virginia and Maryland. Virginia seeks justice, Maryland, well, I don’t really know what the denizens of that state seek. Mercy for the mislead criminals?

Small world indeed! Glad you made it through, hopefully ok.

While I was there the Salvation Army was preparing over 800 meals a day, three times a day, day after day, along with organizing the receiving and handing out of donation goods. No small task I can assure you. They did a fantastic job.
