Nebraska’s Republican governor has a stern message for Ben Nelson, the senior Democratic senator from his state: We don’t want Washington to cover all the costs of the proposed expansion of Medicaid under health care legislation.

“The last few days have made Nebraskans so angry that now it’s a matter of principle,” Gov. David Heineman told POLITICO. “The federal government can keep that money

Could it be...that Ben Nelson had no idea what he really wanted to ask for...other than “special favors”, and the White House simply said millions in medicare payments and he said sure? You would have thought...that senator would have been talking to the governor on this issue...but I’m guessing Ben Nelson was awful stupid over this entire game.

I’ve contacted my Governor and Senators (all Republicans) and advised them that they better fight hard against these bribes or else others will be on the hook for the bribes.

Told about the governor’s comments, Nelson said: “If he wants to subject Nebraska to future liability — it’s his call.” And he called it “foolish,” because the money wouldn’t be available until several years down the road, when other states would almost certainly lobby to get increased federal aid.

Not if it doesn't pass in the first place. Weasel!

Yes, but I believe that Nelson gets to hang on until 2012.

So, Sen. Nelson wants to get into a p!ssing contest with the governor of his state. Oh, if we didn’t have the 17th Amendment...

Are they any exceptions of cases where Senators can be recalled, given enough citizens sign petitions for a vote?

Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went and hanged himself. But the chief priests took the silver pieces and said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because they are the price of blood.” And they consulted together and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in. Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day.

Bend over Nelson. You better have room in there for those millions of dollars. I want it delivered in silver coin.

Sounds like a Republican that opened the political lock box and got a set. Hope he has the fortitude to keep them.

Watch for zero and his handlers to stage a national crisis. Something that requires he suspend the Constitution and elections.

There may not be a 2010 election.

Remember the thread about hundreds of young muzzies suddenly disappearing from the "training camp" recently. Zero doesn't want an election and he is not above creating a reason to not have one.

“There may not be a 2010 election.”

I thought it rather funny when he talked of principal to a Democrat. First thing a democrat does is check his bank statement.
