A Congressional Research Service report commissioned by the House Judiciary Committee says ACORN hasn’t violated any federal regulations the past five years.

The report, released by Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers’s (D-Mich.) staff Tuesday evening, also reports that the undercover filmmakers that allegedly caught employees of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now breaking the law may have violated state law in their filming operation.

So I guess that registering “Mr Mickey Mouse” in 29 states isn't a crime then.

Conyers is sort of a blend of Byrd’s senile dementia and Rangel’s shameless corruption. So who wouldn’t take his word for it, right?

I wonder if the same finding would have occurred if someone other than a liberal democrat that benefits immensely from ACORN did the investigation.

We investigated ourselves and discovered we didn’t do anything wrong.

In fact, the people who turned us in might have broken the law by turning us in. :)

Why should any American citizen be required to abide by laws made by these criminals?

One more brick in the wall of frustration and distrust between the citizens of this country and the crooks that claim to represent them....pretty soon that wall is going to be torn down and it won’t be a pretty sight.

I presume Conyers carries large sums of money on his person ~ or at least one of his goons who travels with him does so.

Personally speaking I would have no problem at all sitting on the jury of someone who robbed this puke and voting NOT GUILTY.

This is a question more people need to be asking.

Who would’ve seen this coming!

JUNE 25, 2009

“Conyers abandons plan to probe ACORN”

‘Powers that be decided against it,’ he says

House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers Jr. has backed off his plan to investigate wrongdoing by the liberal activist group ACORN, saying “powers that be” put the kibosh on the idea.

Mr. Conyers, Michigan Democrat, earlier bucked his party leaders by calling for hearings on accusations the Association of Community Organization for Reform Now (ACORN) has committed crimes ranging from voter fraud to a mob-style “protection” racket.

“The powers that be decided against it,” Mr. Conyers told The Washington Times.

The chairman declined to elaborate, shrugging off questions about who told him how to run his committee and give the Democrat-allied group a pass...

The only reason excuses are being made is political. Anyone who uncovers conspiracies to commit crimes should be a hero, not a target of investigation.

Imagine if their target had been a white racist who was helping them figure out how to murder a black guy and get away with it. Such video would make them a hero among the leftists, and us too. Nobody would be talking about a violation of state videotaping laws.

It’s not much of a difference in the severity of the proposed crimes, conspiring to kill one guy vs. conspiring to keep a dozen underage girls in forced prostitution.

So now the Democrats running Congress have managed not only to intimidate and corrupt the Congressional Budget Office, but the Congressional Research Service as well. And how quickly.
