Rep. Parker Griffith (D-AL R-AL) might be facing some opposition on right after his party switch, but he is being welcomed to the GOP by one top name: Sarah Palin.
Palin posted this on her Twitter account: "Congratulations Alabama! And all Americans concerned about Capitol Hill's current agenda;Rep Parker Griffith just did the right thing.Welcome"
Other big right-wing names, such as the Club For Growth and Erick Erickson, are already laying the groundwork for a primary challenge against Griffith by what they would think of as a truly loyal conservative. But so far at least, Palin is greeting the new GOP Congressman with open arms.
Nothing wrong with Sarah welcoming an increase in GOP House numbers.
She is the leader of the party, after all.
Sarah Palin rocks!
She took the time to ‘highlight’ this person in the ‘positive’, so he deserves a closer look - versus ruling him out completely from our conservative camp. Lest we forget Ronald Reagan used to be a....Democrat!

Amen. I used to be a lib who wanted to keep abortion legal to stem overpopulation. I was so liberal that I frquently questioned why homosexuality is a sin. I thought of animals and plants as people too. If there’s hope for me, then there’s hope for anyone.
One thing that really turned me around was learning about partial birth abortion.
From deep within the archives of Politico, more on the NRCC gunning for Griffith during the election:
Democratic State Senator Parker Griffith has been under fire in recent weeks for comments made to a local Baptist association in which he suggested radical Islam isnt a threat to the U.S. We have nothing to fear from radical Islam. We have nothing to fear from any other religion if we are strong on our own beliefs. I dont fear radical Islam, Griffith said, according to an audio tape made of his appearance. Adding insult to injury, Griffith had already pointed a finger at American culture: I think Americas greatest enemy is America and its materialism, he said.
And reagan coined the term, “trust but verify.”
Hes likely a Trojan Horse.
I dont trust any of the new breed of party switchers.
Reagan was genuinely sincere when he switched parties, as he switched not out of which way political winds were blowing for the greatest political gamesmanship/aggrandizement, rather, with his true convictions and enlightened virtue.
I think this man is an oncologist by trade.
What he should do or somebody should do is start a doctor/meical PAC where docs donate $30 a month. Not the liberal AMA sh*t that most docs are not members. I bet they could raise $50 to $100 million by 2010 to elect pols to overturn this ObamaCare. I bet they could raise $100 to 150 million every 2 years for the elections.
Let’s give this guy a chance and hopefully a lot more House members defect ASAP to hopefully sabotage ObamaCare.
Griffith probably has a lot of dirt to dish on Nancy...could be fun...
doesn’t sound like a liberal. A liberal would express his fear of Jews and Christians
They played those comments a lot during the campaign and he STILL won. That is just how bad the GOP candidate Wayne Parker was.
Mmmm. Methinks someone sees the handwriting on the wall.
One's heart and convictions don't change that fast. This is mere political opportunism. He'll pull an Arlen Spector before long in my opinion, for whatever it's worth.
Trust but verify.
Before the fall election he has to be verified as anything but a RINO.
