Senate Republicans have agreed to end their filibuster of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) health care reform bill a few hours early on Christmas Eve, a move that will allow the GOP to technically stick to its promise to force Dec. 24 vote on the measure while still making it possible for Senators to return home for the holiday.

Go to DC for a few days and go to the high end bars and grills and you will see them all breaking bread or having drinks together.

This is why Terms limits are a must.

Yes. It’s like watching lawyers go against each other in court — you almost believe they are arch enemies. Then there’s a break and you see the opposing lawyers, all chummy, talking about their upcoming golf match or other social event. Truly disgusting. Off with ALL their heads! Term limits are sorely needed, now.

You know, I’m really tired of your bullshit posts. You have absolutely now clue about anything. Maybe you should blame yourself for parroting everyone else and not thinking on your own. You and I are definitely not on the same side.

That bitch Hillary should be in prison along with her worthless husband for having those 900+ FBI files.

During the Watergate era, Charles Colson went to prison for having just ONE FBI file in his possession.

Hmmm...the principled stand would include actually defeating socialism in the US, wouldn’t it?

You don’t think the GOP has socialist leanings?

After all this, a whimper. For God’s sake, fight for this country till the last man is standing. It’s time people stand and make the fight for themselves.

Wow, what an awesome quote. Thank you. It bears repeating: “Let me now take a more comprehensive view, and warn you in the most solemn manner against the baneful effects of the spirit of party generally...The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty.”

From George Washington’s Farewell address

I think the GOP has greatly lost its way, and tends to promote big government, which tends to socialism, yes. That said, the GOP is a large repository for Conservative thought and electoral power - and this we cannot disregard either.

If there are 50 to 75 Rs that are worth saving of the 211 in Congress, why would we not do so? After 11/2010, there will be many more Conservatives in power, and it will be much more in vogue then, to bend to the will (more) Conservative will of the American people.

This in my view, in tandem with what Rubio and Toomey, NJ and VA prove and are proving, is how we will defeat socialism in fact.

Well, to get me on board they need to clean out their leadership starting with the RNC chair.

OK, and in the meantime, will you support Conservatives, who happen to be Republicans? I’m calling them and the new batch coming in (like Rubio) TEApublicans...these are the ones that will stand up to the weak leadership - Demint, Palin, Joe Wilson, Bachmann, Pence, Paul Ryan, et al..

Patriots have no representation in the Feral Governocracy, with the possible exceptions of Inhofe and Demint.

He’s a liberal with a bottom-up approach (as opposed to a trickle down approach) much along the lines of FDR and JFK.

If you want to be taken seriously, you have to give up outlandish nonsensical arguments.

I'm detecting a serious conflict between these statements.

That’s a definite yes if they stick to the core principles of Conservatism. I really like what I seen from Rubio, Demint, and Pence.
