Except in the United States, where it became a very contentious talking point, the US still holding firmly to the 18th-century idea that power should lie with the will of the people.

Seems like a good 21st century idea, too.

Globalism. We can kiss Freedom goodbye. I am glad I got to spend most of my life in a Free Country. I have been doing my best for 30 years to wake up the fools. Most still have the ingrainded attitude. “It is out of my control. Why should I waste time worrying about it?”

"Don't have to run anywhere. Stand and fight! Μολὼν λάβε" There is nothing more formidable or fierce than a man or woman whose back is against the wall with nothing to lose. And a gun in his or her hand. The American patriot will not go gently into that good night. Remember the words of Winston Churchill: "If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance for survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."

"Don't have to run anywhere. Stand and fight! "

The sad truth of the matter is, the dems are NOT afraid of the GOP. I think that's true.

Because of the GOP "Appeaser squad" - John McCain, Chairman, the GOP appears to the dems like "The Cowardly Lion"...they say "boo", and the lion is wiping his fear-tears away with his tail.

We have a HUGE demonstration in D.C....no violence, no arrests, and the dem dogs send out their head bitch - pelosi - to rail about nazism, astroturf and rednecks.

I think behind closed doors they laugh, because they know we're not going to do like they do and riot, burn cars, break windows and steal color TV's. Ergo, they are not scared at all.

I think they have de-fanged us on the elections to, as the dems who stand to lose seats have been given enough side-perks for later positions and money, they don't care about losing an elected office. Those elected offices aren't going to mean squat after obama gets his firm foothold anyway...they don't mean much now, it's just a matter to when the Congress gets sent home, and are replaced by Czars.

But, it is correct that there will be nowhere to run from world government...and the UN is already frothing at the mouth to disarm America.

WE need a leader, and a plan...fast.

And a new theme song...maybe we ought to dig up this old one:

The Fighting Side Of Me
Merle Haggard

I hear people talkin' bad
About the way we have to live here, in this country;
Harpin' on the wars we fight,
An' grippin' 'bout the way things oughta be.

An' I don't mind 'em switchin' sides an'
Standin' up for things they believe in;
When they're runnin' down my country, man
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

[Chorus]
Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me,
Runnin' down the way of life,
Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep;
If you don't love it, leave it,
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin';
If you're runnin' down my country man,
You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

I read about some squirrely guy
Who claims, he just don't believe in fightin';
And I wonder just how long,
The rest of us can count on bein' free;

They love our milk an' honey,
But they preach about some other way, of livin';
When they're runnin' down my country, hoss,
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

[Chorus]
Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me,
Runnin' down the way of life,
Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep;
If you don't love it, leave it,
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin';
If you're runnin' down my country man,
You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

“Globalism” is another form of the internationalism that has been a core belief of the Left: a commitment to class rather than country seemed an admirable antidote to the “blood and soil” nationalism that gave rise to fascism.”

Our country is having enough problems with fascism under our current form of government, much less than some world body selected by who knows what.

“And if the EU model is anything to go by, then the agencies of global authority will involve vast tracts of power being handed to unelected officials. Forget the relatively petty irritations of Euro-bureaucracy: welcome to the era of Earth-bureaucracy, when there will be literally nowhere to run.”

Thats exactly right and the day is approaching when we'll be forced to change our tactics and they won't be laughing anymore. Rather they'll be running, screaming to be spared.

Thanks, found it at www.albris.com. It sounds somewhat like ‘1984’ or ‘Brave New World’, both of which I re-read recently.
