Democrats’ Health Bill Passes Key Senate Vote Republicans pledge to fight on despite losing early Monday
WASHINGTON - Senate Democrats’ health care overhaul passed a key test in a party-line vote early Monday, in a dramatic defeat for Republicans that put the legislation on track for Christmas-week passage.
In the run-up to the vote, the escalation in rhetoric was remarkable on both sides of an issue that has divided the two political parties for months.
"This process is not legislation. This process is corruption," said Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., referring to the last-minute flurry of dealmaking that enabled Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and the White House to lock in the 60 votes needed to approve the legislation.
Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island responded in near-Biblical terms. In a speech on the Senate floor, he said Republicans are embarked on a "no-holds barred mission of propaganda, obstruction and fear. ... There will be a reckoning. There will come a day of judgment about who was telling the truth."

I recommend everyone do two things: Call your dem Senaturds (if you have ‘em) and DEMAND equal treatment for your respective states, and flood the hard-left dems with correspondence, DEMANDING they don’t budge on full funding for abortions and the government option. I’ve done both.

Passage is certain anyway. If America does not exercise her God given right to physically remove this entire lot, then all is lost. Please give an example of a “moderate tyrant”. What the hell does that mean? Tyrants MUST be destroyed. You need to turn off the TV and re-think how you are living, and to what you are committed. Our Constitution is our guide.
Good observations. And this really would be a Civil War, and uh, WE would win it. But before we get there we all need to be activist conservatives and push every button they have- keep them on the run, keep after them. Harass, condemn, ridicule, insult, get on the media.. don’t hold back in any way. No more lectures on civility from people who would enslave us.
That is where you have it wrong. It is time to IGNORE this, and NOT participate. Civil disobedience, and we are empowered by our Constitution. You should start looking for medical types who will not participate and will take cash. Such is/was the case in Britain nationalized healthcare.
