Neb.'s Nelson sees backlash on health reform plan

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - It was the concern of Nebraska's Republican governor over expanded Medicaid costs in the proposed Senate health care overhaul bill that led to a compromise to cover his state's estimated $45 million share over a decade, U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson said Sunday.

Gov. Dave Heineman "contacted me and he said this is another unfunded federal mandate and it's going to stress the state budget, and I agreed with him," the Nebraska Democrat said. "I said to the leader and others that this is something that has to be fixed. I didn't participate in the way it was fixed."

But Heineman expressed anything but gratitude, saying he had nothing to do with the compromise and calling the overhaul bill "bad news for Nebraska and bad news for America."

"Nebraskans did not ask for a special deal, only a fair deal," Heineman said in a statement Sunday.

It would be great if Republicans could have both NE senate seats. I’d also like to see Republicans pick up all the seats in the Dakotas and Montana.

Doesn’t Dumb S*** Nelson think other states have the same problem. Does he not think his most important state will have problems when other states start failing. When will these ignorant politicians start thinking about what is best for America, not just themselves. Now everyone else will suffer but his state will be OK. Aren’t we all in this together. I wish some other Senator would make a deal where his state doesn’t have to pay something but Nelson’s state picks up the bill. From here on out all costs need to be put on Nelson for everything.

How the hell can Nelson justify exempting Nebraska residents from paying a federal tax that everyone else has to pay, and other citizens have to pay for Nebraskans part?

Plus all the other ethical, moral, and Constitutional issues with this whole $%$$%^$^! thing.

What would be GREAT is if we could get veto proof numbers in both the house and senate and then overturn ALL of this crap that has come from the Obamination administration.

It is my Christmas wish...

100,000 corncob NE citizens will show up for a U of NE football game. Mayeb they should visit Nelson’s state offices. I guess they would rather be slaves as long as they have their liberal TV to keep brainwashing them.

The people of Nebraska are at fault for putting this brain-dead doufous into office in the first place.

In the future retaliation will be made. For example Nevada is going to be covered over with a 1 foot deep puddle of water gathered from cooling ponds at atomic power plants. Nebraska is special though ~ we will make sure the Russians keep their targeting equipment on those ICBMs in tip top shape, and Omaha, et al, even the cows, will never be out of their range.

So let me get this straight. He signed his state up for billions in new debt and received $45 million for doing so?

He is retarded?

Does he have Alzheimer’s?

Is he a crack user?

Now it’s an “unfunded mandate” for only the other 49 states. (56 states for those Obama supporters out there.)

Nothing to say here, folks. Ben Nelson, and every other Democrat including all “Blue Dogs” are nothing but left-wing, socialists, the same ilk of their leaders and their POTUS. Name calling is not required here. Action is!!!! We the American people must destroy this Democrat Party at the ballot box and take our country back. As the New Year dawns, we must immediately begin the campaign to destroy the very fiber of the Democrat Party that seeks to destroy America. And....we should start by getting our butts in gear right up there in the great state of MA plugging our guy “Brown” for the senate election coming up on January 19th. And....don’t tell me what a long shot that would be, just roll your sleeves up, give a couple of bucks, work like the heck, and who knows, maybe Brown can best Coakley. Shucks, look what the Lord did to communist POTUS Obama, ruined his Copenhagan farce and locked down the city of DC with a major blizzard!!! Get with the program!!!! The time to talk is passed. It is now time for action through choice and democracy!!!!

Contact your own reps and ask for the same sort of sweetheart deal for your state. Maybe greed can make this thing fall apart.

Oh we’re all in this “together”, alright. Over at the DUmp and the other marxist sites, some are crowing about the mandates being just peachy because they will inevitably lead to “universal healthcare”, just like “civilised” nations of Europe have. They’re right, that’s what this mandate thing is all about. Nebraska and other most favored states better enjoy it while they can, because there’s no way the goal of universal healthcare can be subsidised on even what the government will be extorting through “mandates” now, much less when the real costs appear. They are talking about Axelrod’s statement of app 8% of income, as a good thing, because they know this is leading straight to European-style statist “healthcare”.

And contact your governors and ask just why your state gets to pay for able-bodied Nebraskans as well as their own “mandated” extortion.
