Obama, left behind: Even progressives abandon him as he ends a lost year
NY Post ^ | December 20, 2009 | MATT WELCH

Boy, this “Obama Derangement Syndrome” really has gotten out of hand. Why, just this past week the decreasingly popular president has been called a “bald-faced liar,” “an executive who can’t bring himself to lead,” and even an “Uncle Tom.”

And that’s just by liberals.

The progressive crack-up, before Obama even reaches the end of his first year, has been an awesome and occasionally humorous sight to see. Undead ’60s warhorse Tom Hayden got the ball rolling in early December with his dramatic announcement in The Nation that, with the president’s decision to increase troop levels, “It’s time to strip the Obama sticker off my car.”

Get ready for the largest PR stunt (media complicit), with the State of the Union Address in January. All 60 + House roaring for themselves non-stop. They want this StealCare done before this. Look also for “example plants” pointed to in the balcony roar after roar. (I will not be listening, and never have again after his first press conf. last

Not only that but you have knuckle heads out there calling for a third party because the other two parties are junk.

Believe me, this is one way to guarantee that the rats stay in power..

Yup. I'm old enough to remember what Ross Perot helped do in 1992 and 1996.

How ‘bout if the Republicans become the ‘third’ party?

I wish that it would be that the Conservatives would gain control of the Republican party with a goal of retaking America and making it the best that it can be. Opportunity for all. God Bless you and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Many will sit out the 2010 election, which will give us the margin of victory.

What all the disappointed with Obama libs don’t realize is that he’s bucking a lot of people in his own party. Many Dem congresscritters are not nearly as leftist as their lord and master and can smell a dead skunk in the middle of the re-election road i.e. health care reform. They’re uneasy about climate change too. I guess a lot of the disappointees thought Obama would show up on inauguration day wearing a Castro outfit, waving a commie flag, and singing the Internationale. He’s knows he can’t get re-elected with an all out socialist program. He has to fake a little moderation to get his socialist plans in gear. They want too much too soon.

Still plenty of time for a latter-day Ralph Nader to spring a third-party challenge from the left! ;-) DU and the Kos Kids, I hear, are real unhappy . . .

Undead ’60s warhorse Tom Hayden ... dramatic announcement ... “It’s time to strip the Obama sticker off my car.”

Yeah, that'll make a big impression I'm sure.

>>Many will sit out the 2010 election, which will give us the margin of victory.

Would hope so.
btw in MA a special election to fill The Swimmer’s seat takes place on 1/19, assuming the latest Storm of the Century doesn’t hit sometime before then. Martha Coakley-D v Scott Brown-R; some are not too keen on Brown but I point out that even in Moonbat Mass., there is discontent and the chance to put a Republican in there, however remote, is important. Given choice between someone conservatives agree with on 7 of 9 issues with someone whom they agree with on 0 or 9 (Martha), will they stay home and hand the election
to the ‘Rats...again?

A woman (would be first female Sen. from MA)...a Democrat. She’s a shoe-in. Or is she? Call Brown a RINO but I’d
prefer him to a just-plain-mean moonbat. I’d hope Croakley’s supporters figure she’s a certainty and don’t bother to come out.

And what are you going to do, vote for Beck as a third party candidate? Fight for Conservatives to retake the Republican party with goals to make America prosperous again.

“bald-faced liar,” “an executive who can’t bring himself to lead,” and even an “Uncle Tom.” At least they have that part right.

I know someone who's daughter is in her senior year at an Ivy League college. Last year, the family car sprouted a bumper sticker that just said "Grand Oil Party," which I (somewhat stupidly) thought, at first, was a pro Republican message. It slowly sank in (mainly after talking with the daughter a couple of times) that it was meant as an anti-Bush message.

Anyway, I noticed about a month ago that the sticker has been scraped off, partially. Whoever tried to scrape it off lacked the strength or patience to really get it off, but they ripped enough of it so the words were completely illegible.

What's left of it still hangs there. Kind of poignant, if you know the whole story.

Saw a zer0 sticker on a car yesterday that was badly frayed around the edges. How appropriate. Or maybe the driver had tried to get it off.

I would have thought when even the Kos people and other core elements of the party went against zer0 and the Dems that they would have backed off on health care but no. So now they manage to tick off their own base, centrists, independents, as well as Republicans. Makes you wonder who does that leave for Dems to count on??
