ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said she cut short her Hawaii vacation because of paparazzi, who photographed her wearing a sun visor with the name of John McCain blacked out.
The pictures were circulated widely on the Internet with speculation the redaction was a slight against McCain, but Palin said she meant no disrespect to her former GOP running mate.
"In an attempt to 'go incognito,' I Sharpied the logo out on my sun visor so photographers would be less likely to recognize me and bother my kids or other vacationers," Palin said in a statement.

She is cutting and running from her vacation because she didn’t have the foresight to recognize that she would create an issue with that hat.

DUH of course not. But making a big deal about a hat is STUPID. Taking her pictures, not a surprise, but the media making a big deal about a stupid hat just shows what has happened to the media. If they had just taking her photos and left it as that, then no big deal. I doubt she would even care, but them saying that she was trashing McCain by rubbing out his name from the hat when she also rubbed out her name, yeah thats just plain stupid.
Ok, here is a suggestion as to what she should do next time. Wear a hat that says absolutely NOTHING because she should know that there are people in this world with pathetic lives and empty heads who would make a big deal out of something written on a hat. Then she can go on vacation and not have to worry about anything. Just wear plain clothes, plain hat, plain everything

No matter what she does, she can’t win. she is in a no win situation. She wears a hat with McCain’s name scribbled out, some here said that she was mean for doing that, how could she do that to McCain some said..but then when she issued a statement saying she supports McCain and his 2010 election what happened, those same people and others said “How could she support a RINO like McCain” LOL its quite funny, no matter what she says or what she does, she will get blasted for it. I bet if she wore an “Impeach Obama” hat some here would say it was a bad move
notice how whenever a supposed scandal comes out, some DU dummies show up to post their “Opinion” about what Sarah should do..yeah, sexting, yeah I can imagine right now Sarah is on her blackberry sexting people

As for the security advice. Sheeeesh and sheeeesh again.
She HAS security with her! Security to guard her and her family from harm, but security doesn't and can't prevent the long lenses of intrusive cameras from taking photos.
Some well meaning posters must either think Sarah is careless or that they are smarter than Sarah. I mean, do they really think Sarah and Todd would dare take their children to travel anywhere outside their own little home area without their own security detail?
I think the tee shirt is the bigger story.
The ones who give “Advice” dont give a hoot about her. They are just here to trash her. She has great security, she has threats against her everyday and her security team protects her. Your right, if some photographer wants to take a picture from 50 feet away you can’t stop that. No harm in taking a photo, but calling her a “quitter” because she cut her trip short and bringing up this sexting crap is ridiculous. All of this started because of the scribbled out name of McCain’s name, like she was dissing McCain which she NEVER would do, she admires McCain, even though some here don’t like that fact. When she praises him, she gets smeared, when she crosses out his name, she gets smeared. She can’t win, she mind as well do whatever the hell she damn well pleases and let the chips fall where they may. If these “Experts” think they are so damn smart maybe they should run for President
