CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—A Massachusetts state senator who injured two people in a hit-and-run accident has pleaded guilty and been sentenced to six months home confinement.

Sen. Anthony Galluccio, a Democrat from Cambridge, pleaded guilty Friday to leaving the scene of an accident in the Oct. 4 crash in Cambridge.

The 42-year-old has said he made a "serious error in judgment" when he drove away after his SUV rear-ended another vehicle. A 13-year-old boy and his father received minor injuries.

In Cambridge District Court Friday, Galluccio said he deeply regrets his actions.

The judge ordered Galluccio to surrender his driver's license for five years and submit to random alcohol testing.

He also pleaded guilty to “Impersonating a Kennedy” and was sentenced to write “Do YOU know who I am?” 1,000 times by urinating in the snow in public.

They didn’t drive him “home”. They drove him to his mother’s house. He doesn’t live in his district.

” . . . pleaded guilty and been sentenced to six months home confinement.”

Wow, what a stiff penalty for a hit and run. They’re really tough on crime in Mess-achusetts.

This is too bad... being tied up for 6 months means he won’t be able to run for Sinator or Governor. But with this on his record, he will now be eligible to run for Kerry’s seat in a few years.

I’m surprised his lic. is suspended for 5 years. That’s pretty strict for my state...at least in terms of
penalizing a politician...

Hey,wait a minute, pal. You need to understand that it's only *RAT* Senators who leave the scene of accidents.

(Not that there's any other *kind* of Massachusetts Senator)

Actually, our Senators here in Massachusetts are more partial to cocaine.Alcohol is so very "middle class".
