Sarah Palin announced Thursday night that she ended a Hawaii vacation early because of the ruckus raised after she blacked out "McCain" on her sun visor in an effort to elude paparazzi.

During the month of Aug. Sarah and her family were here in San Diego while she was finishing her book. She was seen wearing similar here and no one bothered with her and the family. A non story.

NOW that Sarah has drawn thousands and thousands of people
in freezing, snowing weather all over the U.S. and many TV interviews and her book selling over a million in a few weeks, The Liberal media felt, time to take Sarah down, she is too popular and about even in the polls with Obama.

To bad some on FR are so childish to be sucked into the liberal media spin and others on FR to keep up the Liberal spin.

What a shame that the left went bonerks over someone just trying to recycle an older sun visor and use it longer. Next time try a seam ripper Sarah though it would probably result in the same phoney uproar. They sure get their panties in a twist over everything don’t they? You’d think that not a single one of them had a life and just live for the next episode of “American Idol” to have something to talk about?

I beg to differ, the quote you are showing appears to be a simple statement, or an answer to a question, not whining.

I can't imagine how I would feel after the whirlwind book tour she just had all over the United States, in and out of time zones, hotels, and the thousands of "meet & greets" she did. I went to Hawaii for a week and it took me another week to get over the jet lag and traveling.

Let's examine the statements:

     They wanted to just lay low and rest up a bit and enjoy a little time off, as we all do. But the low key thing didn't work because of the vultures from the press that hound them day and night, and blew their cover.

     In the same light that makes Sarah so popular with the people - her caring for the people - she saw what a disruption her presence was causing among the other vacationers and did not want to ruin their vacations too.


As an offhand comparison, many "new" celebrities have to learn how to cope with the phenomenon of "forever on" when they are in public. Elvis had to rent entire amusement parks and movie theatres to be able to leave Graceland. I always thought that it must have been terrible not to be able to just go out and walk around the mall, or even go to McDonalds.

But "whining"?...I would not call that statement "whining"...it was a clean and clear statement of fact of the current situation for her family.

Exchanging places, what would you have said with a fistful of microphones in your face?

Some people out there are just wound up in the "complain about Sarah" syndrome, and will even bitch about her going to the bathroom.

Most of it comes from the obama lovers of the world as they see Sarah as a threat to "his majesty" and they can't stand it.

There are a couple of videos out there on line of Meg sparring with some of their local press—and it’s rather pathetic. Probably a nice and loyal woman, but better she serve as Piper wrangler or something than in PR and communications.

I find it interesting that only 'politico' reported on her alleged quotes regarding her support of McCain and now it's 'politico' again reporting that she's allegedly said she cut short her vacation because of the visor incident.

FWIW, the first incident never made it to any media sources I watch or listen to, so I have to wonder about the accuracy of 'politico's' original report and about this one as well.

Before posting, I looked at her FaceBook page. There's an entry from yesterday about climate change, but nothing else.

I think I will withhold any criticism I might have until Sarah comments on FaceBook.

Since she pretty much was able to run under the radar in Alaska, perhaps she still thought she would be able to take a normal vacation like the majority of us... she is probably just starting to come to grips with just how much a celebrity she is...... though I think the long-lens pics of her at the Florida Governor’s Conference last year would have been a big hint...
