The planet may be saved after all, and it will only cost $100 billion.
Just as the Copenhagen climate summit appeared to be on the verge of unraveling, the United States Thursday announced its support of an annual $100 billion climate protection fund, the Associated Press reports.
“The US is prepared to work with other countries toward a goal of jointly mobilizing $100 billion a year by 2020 to address the climate change needs of developing countries,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said.
Included in the conditions for the US' contribution, Clinton demanded that China's emissions reductions be scrutinized independently and that 193 countries sign a climate deal tomorrow. This would keep the US and other rich nations on top of developing countries who want them to increase emission cuts, the AP reports.
Clinton revealed that the U.S. would not be decreasing emissions by 2020 beyond the 4 percent it committed to in 1990.
While she would not disclose how much the U.S. would be contribution to the climate fund, Clinton said there would be a fair amount contributed to the pot that would be made available in 2020. The finances will reportedly be raised partially by taxing aviation and shipping, as proposed by the European Union.

The 21 year old daughter of some friends, just started a job a few weeks ago, insurance has not kicked in yet. Last week, monday, she went into the hospital with unknown bumps and sores on her. She has had 3 MRI's, 3 CATscans, numerous X-rays, numerous IV's. She's been in ICU, some heart floor, some neurology floor.
She had a doctor stay w/ her all night because they weren't sure she was going to make it. One Dr. was taking blood for a blood gas test, and Bridgie started to cry before hand. She told him she didn't know how she was going to pay him, and he told her not to worry about paying him.
She's uninsured, been in the hospital 10 days now, in different dept. with different tests, and probably now has 10's of thousands of $$ in medical expenses, and yet nobody is kicking her out, or holding back care.

It is a scam would get alot of votes but the domestic issues taking priority fills the moderate RINO democrats thoughts without dissing global warming.

I know of someone that after changing around their entire life of addictions had to serve some jail time. After getting out of jail completely reformed ended up in ICU and machines near death with no health insurance. They never kicked him out and cared for him but when his wife tried to get on certain programs that allow a payoff or writeoff of the bills because of there low income. He did not qualify because he was white. They have bills now up the ying yang.
If he would have been a black, a minority, or mexican he would have owed nothing.

I was on our local county water authority for 3+ yearsand helped spend more than a few score of millions on water and sewer projects for which we always undertook intensive studies as to their feasiblilty and their economic justification. Many were upgrades or repair/replacement of existing infrastructure. But they were ALWAY bid competitively with the work going to the lowest qualified/acceptable bidder.
An interesting sidebar: The day my name appeared in the paper as a new member of the board, my phone rang and an anonymous voice announced that “We’re gonna crank up the old airplane and head over to the coast for a load of fresh shrimp and seafood for our freezers and wondered how much you’d like — as a gift, of course?”
I hung up and smiled at the balls of what was probably a contractor or land developer to buy some influence with the new guy.
I guess you and I must be wired differently as I never recall the process ever being “fun.”

Last year no one hung outside Christmas lights. It was depressing.
This year even though no one can really afford it a lot more than last year are hanging lights and decorating.
I am afraid to spend for Christmas as this may be money I need to eat if layoffs occur.
And they spend billions and trillions on the stupidest dumbassed stuff...funding a hoax, endangered field mice.
I know how to run my family budget and finances. I know when to tighten up on spending...
I think we should all get 700 monopoly games per household; free from OBAMA and Pelosi and be allowed to spend the monies in the games to pay our bills, eat, keep the electric on as well.
Better yet all who read this should fix their W-2 exemptions at work to where Uncle Obama Pelosi gets Not a red cent and pay our taxes with monopoly money.
