Jewish terrorist Yaakov Teitel, who is charged with the murder of two Palestinians, has told an Israeli court: God is proud of me.
Mr Teitel, 37, an American immigrant who lives in the Shvut Rachel settlement in the West Bank with his Manchester-born wife Rivka, is charged with 14 offences.
Charges include two counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder, and include alleged attacks on gay, left-wing and messianic Jews.
He is accused of murdering a Palestinian taxi driver in East Jerusalem and a Palestinian shepherd in the West Bank.
He also allegedly sent a gift wrapped bomb to a family of messianic Jews, put antifreeze in juice bottles in a Palestinian village, and perpetrated a bomb attack on the left-wing academic Zeev Sternhell.
Mr Teitel was first arrested in Jerusalem after distributing leaflets praising the August attack on the gay youth club in Tel Aviv.
As he entered Jerusalem district court, Mr Teitel said: "It's been a pleasure and an honour to serve my God. God is proud of what I have done, I have no regrets."
Police found a large collection of weapons when searching his home in the West Bank.
Mr Teitels lawyer Adi Keidar will plead that his client is mentally disturbed.
Mrs Teitel, who was arrested on the way to her husbands hearing earlier this week, has since been released without charged.
She was born Rivka Pepperman to a family from Broughton Park, Manchester. Her father, Michael, a well-known solicitor in the community, was a member of the now closed Central Synagogue. They made aliyah in 1981.
Mrs Teitels sister, Dasi Kreif, said: There was no doubt that an indictment would be filed following these terrible actions. We are trying to go on with our lives, but Rivka will have to deal with a great crisis in her life. It will ruin her life.
At this stage she refuses to believe as long as she has not met him privately, looked him in the eye and asked him. Soon she will begin to understand, and it will be very difficult.
Mr Teitel has been remanded in custody until further hearings in December.
It looks like Israel didn’t take Mr. Teitel crimes all that seriously...that is until he started killing Palestinians (hurts the ‘peace process’ and whatnot).
Typical European mentality.
It is inevitable, however. A campaign of violence affects everyone in the end - thus, the assasination of Rabin. Being the PM of Israel did not save him from a Zionist extremist.

God is a God of love, Teitel, and I’m quite sure he is not ‘proud’ of what you’ve done.
“The question of who worked with him is yet to be addressed, but it is evident that he does have a support network. “
Please support this. I have seen no reports that he had accomplices.
I am not sure why a serial killer, who had various targets, is being called a terrorist except that it is then used to support the thesis that Jews are like Palestinians and sanction terror too.
I saw an interview with his wife on IBA or Channel 2.
She struck me as pretty shell-shocked, almost battered-wife. They’ve looked pretty hard at her and her family (who were shot up by the arabs, which is apparently what caused the guy to go pyscho).
I think he did this on his own, but if there is a “suport network” it would be her, turning a blind eye to erradict activity that would tip a normal person off.
FWIW, he’s an American, loner, doesn’t speak Hebrew.
Neither am I. “Vengeance is Mine” means it’s not anyone else’s to arrogate.
Yake, you might want to wait until you have a chance to consult with Him personally on that.
Teitel will have years to scratch his slogan in the walls of his cell. And no one will name a school after him. Or a soccer field. Of a summer school terrorist training camp.
There are a number of indications - such as that several of the incidents were the work of more than one person. The individual who deposited the Purim bomb at the home of the messianic Jewish family is said to have been picked up afterwards in a car with a driver. Likewise, the assault on the gay club is reckoned to be the work of more than one person - Teitel says he was involved, but it is not clear how, and he has clammed up about that - possibly he does not want to implicate others. He is American, and cannot speak Hebrew properly, but when he was arrested he had anti-gay leaflets written in fluent Hebrew, praising the killings in Tel Aviv.
Others say that Teitel is not involved, and that he is mentally ill and has confessed to killings out of a desire to be notorious.
The trial is going to court and I will post up more information as it appears.
