New York's famously garrulous senior senator, Chuck Schumer, got busted Wednesday for calling a female flight attendant the B-word aboard a US Airways flight from New York to Washington on Sunday.
Schumer was sitting next to protege Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, gabbing away on his phone, when a flight attendant told him to shut it down.
Schumer turned off his phone, and then argued with the attendant that he was allowed to talk while the cabin door is open. He lost.

I think the electronics limits on flights is crap, but he is right as far as I know, he can be on the phone while the door is open.
At least he was flying commercial!
He “can” do whatever the flight staff will LET him do.
He can argue the policy but he does not run the flight and neither do any of the other passengers.
I wish she had him arrested for failing to heed airline safety instructions. A bonus would have been taking Schumer the tumor off in handcuffs.
Still doesn’t give him the right to abuse the hired help.
I fly frequently for work and I agree, a bunch of crap and yes, the rule is for as long as the door is open. However, as I understand it, the flight attendant can request it before the door is closed so that when it is closed they can push back immediately. With that said, he still is a piece of work by calling here that...typical liberal elitist.

About the best that can be said about this episode is that at least Chuckie didn’t scream, “DON’T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?” at the flight attendant.
Yes, he is correct but Schumer may have been overly bellicose in the conversation. The attendant may have been fed up with having to listen to his too-loud narcissism.

A City Councilor in my city said he didn’t want public input on making us pay for trash bags because he didn’t want “a Bitch session”. I could not post that on the malden.com web-site because it would not accept the word “bitch”. It was an exact quote that even aired on our local access station twice. Ridiculous.
I sure wish we could go back to the day when we had “senators” in the Senate instead of. . . .
Why a former employee of Indymac Bank has not put a bullet in his head is beyond me.
