Arnold Schwarzenegger has called for a planetary transformation to save the world from climate change.
The Governor of California said an international agreement at Copenhagen will usher in a new era of renewable energy and economic growth through manufacturing green technology.
Even if a deal cannot be done between nation states, he said cities and regions such as California are moving forward in transforming their industries and individual lifestyles.
And he offered to host a summit for sub-national governments such as California and London to make sure climate change is tackled on a regional level.
Speaking in the Danish capital, Mr Schwarzenegger said the world could take inspiration from the both the citys carbon conscious lifestyle and its heritage as the home of story teller Hans Christian Andersen.
There is a statue of the Little Mermaid in the harbour based on the Hans Christian Anderson fairytale, but when I was a boy in Austria my favourite tale was the Ugly Duckling because it was a tale of transformation that spoke to me inside. I have always believed in personal transformation, he said.
The desire and hope and desperate need for planetary transformation is what brought me here. Is it a dream, a fairly tale, a false hope? If not how can we make it real?

Why stop there? Why not interplanetary transformation.

worked so well for Cauliflornia Schwarzenegger explicitly said that California has had much experience coupling environmental success with economic success.

Seems like this guy was saying much the same sort of thing.

Arnold doesn't want to get caught holding the empty bag that's supposed to have taxpayer money in it. Guess he shouldn't be blowing it on carbon trading scams.
Gov. Schwarzenegger also announced an executive order directing California Secretary for Environmental Protection Linda Adams to coordinate state climate change policy. The executive order, which will formally be signed on Tuesday, also instructs the secretary to work with the California Air Resources Board to seek to develop a framework that allows California to work together with RGGI. Such an arrangement would help build a large, robust carbon trading market that will dramatically reduce emissions.
RGGI (pronounced ReGGIe) is a cooperative effort by Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states to discuss the design of a regional cap-and-trade program initially covering carbon dioxide emissions from power plants in the region. In the future, RGGI may be extended to include other sources of greenhouse gas emissions, and greenhouse gases other than CO2.
Currently, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Vermont are participating in the RGGI effort. Legislation was signed in April 2006 that requires Maryland to become a full participant in the process by June 30, 2007. In addition, the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, the Eastern Canadian Provinces and New Brunswick are observers in the process.
Earlier in the day, Gov. Schwarzenegger toured a greenhouse gas emissions credit trading desk at Credit Suisse with New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.

So Arnold, just how much of the people's money did you throw down that hole?

Yep, right out of the state or country as he speaks.

Is “nincompoop” an Austrian word created many generations ago to apply to the Schwarzenegger gene pool?
To: C19fan
So, what “solutions” does Arnold suggest, what will they cost, etc.
We need to know these things, because they are solving a non-issue.
Man CAN’T be changing the climate through CO2 emissions.
Man’s CO2 contribution to the greenhouse effect is 0.117% - less than statistical noise.

Don't look now Arnold, but there is a bigger fairytale going on right now - and you're in it!
