WASHINGTON Washington D.C.'s City Council has voted to legalize gay marriage in the nation's capital. Mayor Adrian Fenty has promised to sign the bill, which was co-sponsored by 10 of the council's 13 members. The final vote Tuesday was 11-2.

Unlike traditional laws which require APPROVAL, not disapproval.
Down is up, wrong is right, perversion is the norm.
So . . . in D.C. you can’t pack heat, but . . .
Ummm ... wrong.
Just like any other law, this one has been APPROVED by the relevant legislative body. In this case, said body is the DC City Council. It must, like other laws, be APPROVED by the relevant executive, in this case the Mayor of Washington, DC. Since DC is a creature of the fedgov, there is one additional layer of "checks and balances": the Congress may DISAPPROVE the law if it so sees fit.
Up is up, down is down, and the DC City Council is populated by perverts.
