Glenn's blackboard illustration of the Founders' truly revolutionary which provides the very basis of our liberty was priceless! That he began the show with the Jefferson quotation, "The God who gave us life, gave us liberty also," forms the foundation for the blackboard illustration, and Jefferson's phrase which completes that sentence is, "the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them."

Beck's illustration reminds me of one of the essays from "Our Ageless Constitution." The book is available at the web site here but this is an excerpt from the essay:

THE UNIQUE IDEA OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES

Our Constitution embodied a UNIQUE IDEA. Nothing like it had ever been done before. The power of the idea was in the recognition that people's rights are granted directly by the Creator - not by the state - and that the people, then, and only then, grant rights to government. The concept is so simple, yet so very fundamental and far-reaching.

America's founders embraced a previously unheard-of political philosophy which held that people are "...endowed BY THEIR CREATOR with certain unalienable rights.." This was the statement of guiding principle for the new nation, and, as such, had to be translated into a concrete charter for government. The Constitution of The United States of America became that charter.

Other forms of government, past and present, rely on the state as the grantor of human rights. America's founders, however, believed that a government made up of imperfect people exercising power over other people should possess limited powers. Through their Constitution, they wished to "secure the blessings of liberty" for themselves and for posterity by limiting the powers of government. Through it, they delegated to government only those rights they wanted it to have, holding to themselves all powers not delegated by the Constitution. They even provided the means for controlling those powers they had granted to government.

This was the unique American idea. Many problems we face today result from a departure from this basic concept. Gradually, other "ideas" have influenced legislation which has reversed the roles and given government greater and greater power over individuals. Early generations of Americans pledged their lives to the cause of individual freedom and limited government and warned, over and over again, that eternal vigilance would be required to preserve that freedom for posterity.

Glenn apologizes...sort of

Tiger Woods isn't the only one with a scandal on his hands, Glenn has one too. Yes, Glenn has been caught talking about one of his radio sponsors! The horrors! We know the nitwits on the left are desperate to convict Glenn of something, anything--and this is apparently the best they have. The charge? Glenn actually believes in a product and company he talks about. And he says that company is a sponsor every day. Some would call this honesty in advertising...but not the left. (Judging by their ratings, perhaps they're not familiar with the concept of advertising at all.) Should Glenn only talk about companies and products that he doesn't believe in? We're not sure. So, just for the morons out there complaining about Glenn and Gold, here is his 'apology' in the latest Beck Talks video blog. WATCH

Glenn's movie recommendations

Glenn actually went out and saw a couple of movies this weekend, and they didn't have anything to do with progressivism or Marxism (although, a Marxist Progressive probably wrote them). What were the movies Glenn selected? Let's just say that Glenn pulled a December surprise and went the Sandra Bullock road. Did he lose his man card? Not like he still had it, but still. Convicted Felon calls in...

Liberal bloggers have been doing their level best to defend the good name of convicted felon Robert Creamer. He's the progressive who wrote what Obama's top advisor David Axelrod calls the 'blueprint' for progressive victories. An alleged convicted felon called into the program today to try and argue on behalf of the other convicted felon (Creamer). It does not end well (for the caller). Check it out here. Keeps getting worse for Tiger: With each passing day, there seems to be a new woman who claims to have been with Tiger. It's amazing he lasted this long without anyone finding out. Tiger announced an indefinite leave from the PGA Tour over the weekend, with sources saying he'll be out for a 'long' time.
