TIGER Woods rocked the world of sport yesterday by announcing he was giving up golf indefinitely in an attempt to save his marriage.
Just hours after one of his 12 mistresses appeared on US breakfast television revealing intimate details of their affair, Woods admitted for the first time he had been unfaithful to his wife and said he was putting his career on hold.
"After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father and person," Woods said in a statement on his website.
The shock decision has major ramifications for golf. Woods dominates the sport and is responsible for a large part of the corporate sponsorship that underpins the PGA tour's burgeoning prizemoney pool.

That's so petty. All he has to do is make the first drink last 20 minutes... then he'll get offered freebies by the fans until closing time.

I agree... unfortunately so... I actually thought that his ties to his father (who I thought taught him ethics) was not only great, but the over-riding effect in his life (what a joke)! Gads, was I not only wrong - oh well, I guess it’s time to put all those fantasies to rest and accept that almost all of those that get rich tend to become narcissists.
Really sorry to see this though - Jack Nicklaus will continue to be the greatest golfer no matter what this idiot does in the future. He became rich and famous and was a most honest and family oriented man...
