The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 23% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19.
Today is the second straight day that Obamas Approval Index rating has fallen to a new low. Prior to the past two days, the Approval Index had never fallen below -15 during Obamas time in office (see trends).
I am personally surprised at how quickly Bush’s reputation is recovering. Truman was very unpopular when he left office at the end of 1952, nowadays he is considered one of our better presidents.
Of course, I miss Calvin Coolidge.
You should be a climate scientist.
“Among those who consider fiscal policy issues the most important, just 1% Strongly Approve and 81% Strongly Disapprove.”
************
I saw that, too. Of course, we dont know exactly how “fiscal policy” was defined by these people, who gave him greater approval if “the economy” was their top issue.
Perhaps it relates to tax and spend, maybe many now understand what the effect of ending the Bush tax cuts will be, or maybe there was an immediate reaction to hearing of the increased salaries of fed employees.
Clinton tanked in ‘94 largely due to HillaryCare. But when that didn’t pass (didn’t even come up for a vote), the Pubbies came in and overeached and the rest is history. Clinton, although a leftie, was more interested in his legacy and his reelection rather than ideology. So he moved to the center and actually to the right with welfare reform and later a drop in the capital gains rate. As to 1994 itself, the economy wasn’t bad but wasn’t great either. In fact, it was the worst year in almost 70 years for the bond market as the Fed was raising rates. 1995 and beyond featured the full advent of the internet and thus a roaring economy for awhile.
Good - then his exit from the presidency should be easier!
[If this persists we can expect a “generated crisis” sometime soon]
Americans will not rally around Zero if there is a terrorist attack, a financial meltdown, or N. Korea or Iran does something drastic, they will BLAME him. I can’t think of any crisis that will help Obama at this point.
Oh goody! More reason NOT to watch either of those two shows.
I just hope Obama doesn’t bottom out too soon. A lot can happen between now and the 2010 Congressional elections and the DemocRats will have the entire MSM working to keep them in power.
This is fantastic, thanks for posting. Signs of the Awakening.
This may be similar to the general realization of Jimmuh Carter’s ineptitude when things got so bad that even many liberals could no longer defend the indefensible.
odumbo the more you see him the less you like him
I meant 96
I know.
Either way, the GOP needs to take the fight to this clown and take him down.
Nah odumbo cannot help himself, he will say something, offend somebody or generally be an ass. He is what he is
Folks, you want a good readout on Barack Hussein Obama, read the Nat Hentoff piece posted on this site!!! It just may be the best, most honest and most truthful post on this site, this year!!!!
But remember who his opponent was. I firmly believe the idiots in the Republican bosses will nominate another wimpy, RINO to be Obama's opponent because they do not want their asses to be kicked out. They know that Obama will let them remain if they do not oppose him.
A couple of days ago, I heard a pundit on FNC saying that out of the 53% who voted for 0b0z0, only 47% admitted voting for him.
Take this 6% and add to it the turn in the Independent vote, which showed up in Virginia and New Jersey that was estimated to be 1/3 to 2/3 against.
That pretty picture may very well turn the Outhouse to The House in 10.
0b0z0 has 10 more months to screw up some more with his crap and tax, card check, etc.
What happened on Friday that could have done this?
I'll be interested as to what his numbers are like on Monday.
35% by June, just noticed the graph does not start at 0.
