Daily Presidential Tracking Poll (-16!)
Rasmussen Reports ^ | December 12, 2009 | Rasmussen

Posted on 12/12/2009 6:34:23 AM PST by Scanian

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 25% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -16. That’s the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President (see trends).

The 25% who Strongly Approve matches the lowest level of enthusiasm yet recorded. That’s partly the result of declining enthusiasm among Democrats. While Democrats continue to offer their approval, just 43% Strongly Approve.

Among all voters, 36% now believe that the president is doing a good or an excellent job handling the economy while 45% rate his performance in this area as poor. Seventy-one percent (71%) of Democrats say he’s doing a good or excellent job on the economy while 74% of Republicans say poor. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 52% give the President poor marks when it comes to the economy.

On national security matters, 39% rate the president’s performance as good or excellent while 36% say poor. Most voters nationwide lack confidence that NATO will do its part to help in Afghanistan. The President’s new plan for Afghanistan draws mixed reviews from voters.

Check out our review of the week’s key polls to see “What They Told Us.”

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates are also available on Twitter and Facebook.

Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-three percent (53%) disapprove.

5% of Democrats is in fact 2% of voters though. Which was the original value of Democrats given.

The reason some of us take the time to post these polls when they show a trend in the right direction is to provide a much-needed psychological boost for some of the blues singers we have here on FR.

Of course some folks, if the won the lottery, would complain about all the taxes they’d have to pay to the dirtbag government before they did anything else.

Not everybody here is an apathetic lump. Plenty of us worked in campaigns and/or contributed money the last time out. Proportionally quite a few of us, in fact.

We know the circumstances and we know what has to be done. It’s just nice to look up at the scoreboard and see something encouraging once in a while.

There will be a big anti-Obamacare rally in DC on the 15th, if you’d care to make the trip. Possibly some regional meetings as well.

I do not think the "Strongly Approve - Strongly Disapprove" +/- daily number is meaningful, though. I think it's just a marketing product to draw attention to his website on a daily basis...not that there's anything wrong with capitalistic marketing of course!!!!

The strong approve/disapprove ranks is where you get the people who will speak out for/against Obama, and where you get the activists who will go out and do things for/against Obama.

The fact that his strong approve/disapprove ratio is so low means that in any group of people discussing Obama, the antis are likely to dominate the discussion.

As you pointed out

11/12/09 (today) is -16%

1/21/09 it was +28%

What I would like to see, but 39 days isn't enough, is -28%.

To totally reverse his standing in just one year.

39 days = 5+ weeks. I'd say he's going to drop a point a week.

By Jan 20, 2010 he'll be at -20/-21.

IF that were a trend that would continue, about Feb.10, I'd expect he'd be about -24, with a 24% approval and a 48% DISapproval. A 2 to 1 ratio.

The problem is, that even though the CBC is going after him right now, IF Zero was caught in the act with a goat (a literal one, not Helen Thomas), clubbed a baby seal, denounced MLK on national television, and admitted to being born in Kenya, they would still promote and vote for him over Sarah or Huck or even Hillary, simply for ONE reason, and its in their name.

The purpose is to make himself look presidental or a reason to impose martial law.
Dont think me a member of the black helicopter club, but I fear this man more than I feared the Russians.

Ditto that thought here.

Expect silence from now on.

Remember if they PRETEND his poll numbers aren't tanking, to the leftist media, this catastrophic drop in popularity never happened.

Gallop is showing his approval numbers are down to 87% among the Establishmedia. Devastating news to the WH.
