Exactly, ITA.

Phone calls to which agencies to get them rethinking their inaction to this point?

As others have also said, I’d really love to see what happens when some of us ordinary folks act in such a way, see what the outcome is for us... though who would dare, considering what we would *expect* the consequences would be! And how many of us could be so rude, unless it’s to others who also know of the plan.

I have family flying in the next weeks, as many of us do.

According to the 9 News article, “all of the men looked to be “Middle Eastern,” just like the 5 “Americans” arrested in Paki-land. And the 5 “Americans” over there? Ramy Zamzam Waqar Hussain Khan, Umer Farooq, Ahmad Abdul Minni, Aman Hassan Yamer, and Mohammad al Ai-Lai-Lai Jihad.

If you are obviously not an Arab you'll get the hook if you even look nervous about flying.

WHY is what those passengers doing (disrupting commerce, terrorizing passengers and crew) not a criminal matter?

I assume that is a rhetorical question ... you try it and see what happens.

I am flying friday. I’d be lying if I said I was not nervous.

Flying is a privilege, not a right.

Not necessarily. If you are a member of a ‘special class’ it’s a right. And you’d better give into their demands and shut up about it.

I do not understand the moving around of their luggage. Also, who is funding these flights for so many Arab men and where are they going in large groups?

If we had a real press, I suppose they could look into these things and find those answers with relative ease.

All the more reason to check out who is the other passengers, and every reason to make a stand BEFORE the aircraft does a sudden impact with a stationary object while everyone is hearing someone scream “God is great” or Allah something or another.

Seriously I will wait until I am last in line boarding and will take a photo of any middle eastern person ESPECIALLY those that follow the standard profile, young, nervous or a vacant expression, or incessant praying. And said photos should be forwarded to at the least a friend for safekeeping.

I was watching a home video I shot of my family last weekend at Disneyland in december of 1999, and lo and behold I had my camera aimed at a middle east looking man and he was visibly agitated and openly glaring at me, at Disneyland no less, and most of us know by now that was when it was reported that terrorists were scoping it out.

Its war out there and its up to us the average Joe citizen to be tactically alert.

No, it is an absolutely serious question.

Any passenger or group of passengers who behaves as these did should be subject to arrest at the point at which they defy the direct orders of a member of the crew to abide by FAA rules and be seated so that the plane can continue. If they are taken off, they should most certainly not be allowed on any other flight, they should have no expectation of recompense or lawsuit, and they should be questioned, their information taken, and followed up on.

So, no, I’m dead serious.

Though your point is well taken; see my post 22.

groups of single or unaccompanied muslim men, all of certain ages, presumably flying on one-way tickets, probably paid in cash

inquiring minds WANT TO KNOW- who is paying for this- and why

at “best” this is an organized effort trying to goad the airlines into a lawsuit which the airlines will settle for large cash - which will presumably fund our future destruction on the orders of allah

The fascinating story behind the story is that 9news stands alone in reporting this incident. Both Hagmann’s Canada FreePress and Schlussel articles point to the NBC affiliate’s story on the incident. I just spent a little time scouting each of Denver’s other network affiliates, plus newspaper, and came up empty. Not normal.

Either media were pressured not to cover the story for national security reasons, or they’re afraid of it for PC reasons. I’d have no problem with it if I had confidence that the feds were keeping it quiet so as not to impede a serious investigation of the larger pattern. But that’s not what history suggests, as we’ve seen time and again how these agitprops shake out—with investigators caving to PC pressure and cash settlements lining the pockets of disruptors.

Anyone in Denver willing to call their TV stations and paper to ask why this incident merited no mention whatsoever, when every house fire and stabbing gets coverage?

Good point. As a defense litigator, I want the case, and let’s set the stage right now. Crew personnel should enforce existing laws with adequate probable cause, and then the airlines must defend the subsequent cases for malicious prosecution with vigor. We could work on making some helpful law on what probable case in the civil sector really is.

Ultimately, the safety of air travel — and the safety of the nation itself — rests with “sheepdogs” like us. Remember, when every second counts, the police will be there in minutes. We are the new Minutemen.

So how do we employ the Minutemen on an otherwise routine flight? (Keep in mind that the authorities don’t trust us, even though we’re the good guys.)

We can’t exactly tell the flight attendant during boarding that “I’ve got your back” or she might freak out and alert the authorities — about us! And we can’t ask her to seat us next to any suspicious Middle Eastern types, either, for the same reason.

Should we go up to the ticket counter before the flight and offer our services as impromptu bouncers? Nah. Wear our “junior air marshal” badges? Yell “Let’s Roll!” while boarding? Again, doubtful.

I’m at a loss. Anybody got any creative suggestions?

In fact, are flight attendants “officially” aware of the fact that probably a quarter to a half of their passengers are good guys, ready to launch if trouble threatens? Do they realize they can yell “help!” and all hell would break loose, in a good way?

who is paying for this?

We are. As long as the Democraps ban energy development here, money flows to the muslims of Arabia to fund folks who want to kill us.

It's right there in plain sight.
