Maxine Waters, Closeted Socialist (calls herself a liberal) from California lets slip to the CEO of Shell Oil that she would like to Socialize (though she probably means nationalize) his companies.
She did a pretty good job of equaling that during the Clinton impeachment when she repeatedly declared “the issue is mute”. Just over the shoulder of the guy next to her is a woman working very hard to cover a laugh.
College? C’mon! You can’t be serious.
“Considering that Royal Dutch Shell is a British company, it’s hard to see how Maxine has much authority on the matter. Not that she wouldn’t give it the ol’ college try.”
A “big thinker” like Ms. Waters doesn’t get involved with small details such as this trivial example.</extreme s>

I just finished a novel along these lines. It’s “Patriot” by James Wesley Rawles. The setting at the beginning is a collapse of the currency (because of overextension of government borrowing and spending—sound familiar?) and subsequent anarchy which ends American civilization as we have known it.
The rest of the book is centered about six couples and a few single guys who have prepared for this and how they cope in northern Idaho. After a few years a United Nations military and civilian force sets about to reorganize the American government. I won’t reveal the ending.
Sounds to me like a tar pit somewhere is missing it’s ugly dinasaur.
Nothing, which is fine by them, they are going to shut em down so we can go back to horses, buggys and green power.

These guys are such bubbleheads... they want to break up big businesses.... thats what anti trust and monopoly laws are about. They have fiscal tools such as taxation etc etc Instead they want to operate like the presidents new friend from Venezuala.... and the f-ups of Africa. Seize the stuff. Destroy functioning industries. Mugabe is another classic example.

The electorate in CA-35 would be agreeable to a primary from an Hispanic traditional values DEM. Her district is 50% Hispanic.
