ALERT! Bachmann: STOP Barney Frank’s POWER GRAB in the financial sector - AUDIO
hotair ^ | 12/11/09 | Ed Morrissey

Is Rep. Michele Bachmann a “lovable little fuzzball”? Those of us who know her on a more personal basis know that’s a pretty good description of Michele personally, but politically,she’s about as tough as they get. Breitbart TV’s B-cast interviews Bachmann, who brings listeners up to date on Barney Frank’s financial-reform legislation, which dropped on the House last week. It’s 1300 pages long, and the vote will be taken — today. It reorders the entire financial-services industry and vastly increases government control over it. Oh, and ACORN, too.

Frank bypassed the committee process, according to Bachmann, and she doesn’t see much hope for stopping it in the House. She wants to encourage people to put pressure on the Senate, where she thinks the bill can be stopped (via Powip):

Does calling Congress actually work? Bachmann says it absolutely does. She also encourages people to call their Representatives today to at least try to stop this bill, but like Bachmann, I think the chances of stopping it there are negligible, especially since Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank have a 75-seat majority and the bill has flown under the radar during the health-care debate in the Senate. It will be tough to stop in the upper chamber, but not impossible. We just need to get this on our radar screen quickly and start perusing its 1300 pages more than members of Congress did before having it crammed down their throats.

I fear that if this keeps up the peaceful will no longer be peaceful.

Everytime I post something outrageous..which is about every single day, I see this type of line above. May be that comfort you to think that way, knowing well that NOTHING is gonna be done before it is too late?

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist;

Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist;

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist;

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew;

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.

>>>Why is it so often the writer of an article does not post the bill number or title? What is the bill number?<<<

Google is your friend...although I admit it took a scan of about 8 articles before I found it!

Read the bill, H.R.4173, at http://thomas.loc.gov/

"Damn the sh*t never stops does it?"

No it doesn't, Sir. Our Republic is going down in flames before our very eyes.

Last hope: STATE NULLIFICATION!

Bachmann says if Healthcare, Cap and Trade, and this financial bill passes the commies will have seized close to 70 percent of the free market economy in less than 18 months. Stunning.

Yup, saw it. And the only answer so far is more demonstrations that the marxists in DC will ignore. Love street activists, but they are not thinking strategically.

STATE NULLIFICATION IS THE ANSWER!
Just a few States say enough!...the impact will reverberate throughout the halls of Congress. What would DC do? What? Think it through.

I agree with state nullification. If only a few decided to go that route would DC give a crap? These scumbags are looting the treasury 6 ways to Sunday. I’m still holding out hope that if any of this sh!t gets passed that it will be challenged in court. If that fails, state nullification. If that fails, gun play. Not a pretty picture. It’s coming sooner than people may think or want.

"I agree with state nullification."

Good for you. So just a few States say enough. My question, which hasn't been answered as yet, what would DC do in response?

1. They could with hold their re-distribution of Fed funds. However, the above States could stop their tax receipts to DC.
2. DC sends armed forces into such States to enforce? Ain't gonna happen. No one has that kind of gumption anymore. This is not the 1860's.
3. Deny such States other rights? Good luck with that.
4. Sue? I would love to see such a Constitutional fight. And even if the USSC decided on the side of the abused "commerce clause" and the "welfare clause", the States would still have the "nullification" ability to over-ride, just like any jury.

That above said, I believe DC would back down and our entire Republic could change for the better. It would only take 3 to 5 States to stand firm.

Montana and Tennessee have already passed intra-state laws regarding gun manufacturing and sales in contradiction to Fedgov laws. Texas and Louisiana are looking to do the same. What has DC (AG Holdren) done so far? Nothing? He is scared to fight such, much like the p**sy he represents.

Plus, numerous States have either passed or have resolutions pending to reassert their State sovereignty regarding other issues, healthcare included. Yes, resolutions have no lawful status, but it's a start.

I realize that I'm getting repetitious regarding this issue, but I'm telling everyone I can that States' Rights is our last best hope to stop the marxist takeover in DC.

Demonstrations/protests mean little anymore. There was a time they made a difference...it's long gone.

Study the 9th and 10th Amendments to most wonderful document ever created in the history of mankind! Read what the FF's said in the debates.

we need to start a “YOU SUCK!” campaign. They don’t listen to us when we call, or when we meet, or protest...

It might be a lot less stressful for us if we just call each office (local and DC) for the congressman and the 2 senators. Don’t bother being polite or asking to leave your opinion...they don’t care.

Just tell them “YOU SUCK” and proceed to your next phone call.

When there are meetings and speechs, just yell “YOU LIE” or “YOU SUCK”.

That should get their attention. It can easily escalate to something even more attention-getting. I would be willing to stand outside the White House and test my lungs...

How about if each of us ping 10 Freepers to this thread and ask each one we ping to ping 10 others.

We must spread the word about this damaging bill BEFORE the Senate passes it!

What do you say?

Hello. Please forgive the ping - but this is an “under the radar” action alert.

House voted this abomination through this week. They got the bill on Tuesday and had to vote on it this Friday. Every Republican in he House voted against it.

t has gone to the Senate.

Congresswoman Bachmann is asking for ACTION to stop its passage in the Senate.

Please ping 10 other FReepers to this thread and ask them to ping 10 more and to take the recommended action if at all possible and to spread the word.

Thank you!

(And if this is not your cup of tea, please ping whomever you can - thanks).
