Was Air Tran Flight #297 a terrorist dry run?
The American Thinker ^ | December 11, 2009 | John Leonard

Like Climategate, there is another story the national mainstream media has either missed or largely ignored, and that is the story of what really happened November 17th on Airtran's Flight 297 from Atlanta to Houston.

Much confusion remains about exactly what transpired that afternoon on a plane preparing for takeoff at Hartsfield International Airport. By every account the undisputed facts are a large group of men disturbed procedures and upset the flight crew to the point it caused the flight to be delayed. At least one passenger allegedly refused to comply with repeated requests from flight attendants to discontinue his use of a cell phone (in compliance with FAA regulations) while the plane was taxiing on the runway, causing the pilot to turn the plane around. The entire group was asked to deplane and TSA officials questioned them before allowing them back on the flight. The original flight crew was replaced. Twelve passengers not involved with the group of belligerent Middle Eastern men deplaned and requested another flight.

There’s so much to say about this...what they put the passengers and crew through, the frantic whitewash by the airlines, probably orchestrated by the feds, whom we hope are on the case. The fact that most of the media haven’t covered the story. (It’ll be interesting to see if Foxnews mentions it.)

The Islamofascists would love to unleash a horror like this for Christmas. Their present to all America. Meanwhile, we don’t seem to have the guts to name the enemy. They’ve already murdered more people, including thousands of Americans, than Pearl Harbor. Well, Obama and pals have emboldened them with a lack of respect for America’s Judeo-Christian heritage/values/mores, so we can expect more and worse.

I have several Airline pilots where I live.
I have asked each about this incident and they all say the moosies are trying this crap EVERY day and not too much gets done about it.
Our govt is NOT protecting you.
It is covering up for the moosies agenda.

I think it was a combination dry-run and attempt to troll for lawsuits. If AirTran had kept them off they plane, they would have sued.

Now the passengers should sue, in order to get this story out into the media and in order to get some justice for the ordeal they were forced to go through by AirTran.

I wouldn’t have let the mooselimbs back on the plane. They could find another way to their destination. PC is going to get people killed.

I have a friend who's brother flys often and he told me that his brother always flys wearing steel tipped boots. He says its the only weapon he can bring to protect himself. It something to think about.

I don’t know yet.

There were a whole bunch of folks on that plane yet only 2 others partially corroborate the tale.

I would think that at the point that these dry run jhadis started making shooting gestures at other passengers, they ran a pretty high risk chance of getting a BIC pen in the throat. Pens and pencils make pretty good close work weapons, as well.

They certainly could bring suit against AirTran, but FAR's are pretty clear and they'd be wasting their money. The Pilot in Command is responsible for the safety of the aircraft. It doesn't matter if it's a Cessna 150 or a Boeing 747. If these muzzies were considered a threat to the safety of the aircraft the Captain can have them removed.

If I, as a WASP male, do ANYTHING to interfere with the crew of an airline flight I am probably going to be taken off the plane and charged with a a federal crime. The tolerance shown other religions or ethnicity amounts to nothing less than a double standard.

I suspect this was a three-pronged attack. At the lowest level it was designed to aggravate and intimidate a bunch of law-abiding travelers, the same way gang bangers will go into a public place and misbehave just for the hell of it.

At the next level it was an attempt to get kicked off the flight so they could joint the great American lawsuit parade. With the precedent set by the Flying Imams it's practically a given that they can get a soap box and a payoff.

At the the top level it was another probing of the security measures being used these days. They learned a lot from this. Again, I would have been kicked off the flight, arrested and put on the no-fly list had I done any of the things these guys did. They know now they have a good deal of leeway before the situation reaches the point an airline will risk the bad publicity of enforcing the rules when the problem passenger is not a WASP.

All in all, I would say they consider their mission to have been accomplished at every level.

Just another of the myriad of ways life in the US is being changed from what I grew up KNOWING was the best country in the history of the world.

I don't see anything being done to reverse the trend. One by one our freedoms are being taken away. Government gets bigger and more intrusive one small step at a time. As Rush points out, all they are waiting for is for those of us who are old enough to know what America used to be to die off and then it's Katie-bar-the-door.

Well, that may be the case in theory, but the Flying Imams got a cash settlement and the case serves as a deterent for airlines to take preemptive action. Our collective risk in flying went up significantly with that case.

There’s a dual purpose here.
First is to wear us down and hope for a nice fat lawsuit against anybody and everybody on the plane.
Second is to ready things for THE NEXT MASS ATTACK!

True, but the airlines have been sucessfully sued by Islamofascist, so the is more and more relunctance on the part of pilots to make this decision.

The concept has been refined and simplified. If it’s too difficult to get box cutters and or other weapons on board an airliner, than simply fill the cabin with enough muslims to overpower any resistance. Now on most planes today that will require a very large number unless they have a plan to immediately take women and children hostages by brute strength ( choke holds or other mean of torture which can cause everyone else to not counter-attack. I should think that if a plane suddenly has sold out all 1st class seats and they are all arabs I think they could then control the forward cabin and break into the flight deck.

but the Flying Imams got a cash settlement

Cash settlement by the Defendant or a judgment awarded by a Jury? One sets legal precedent and the other is given by the airline to save face. Big difference......

yes, the pattern for future demographics looks bleak. BTW, your home page says you are 7 years old. You’re pretty smart for your age.

Gee. I fly from time to time; and so do lots of folks I know. Many of us share the same revulsion of Islamic Swine and would be happy to bring forth evidence that shows that they are not to be treated as if they were just anyone going about their daily life. Put us all together and we have as much flying experience as any one of your pilots. But SFAIK, none of us has experienced any disruptive behavior by Islamic Swine on any of our flights.

So I call your assertion here BS. Not just BS, but harmful BS because if it gets mixed in with real facts of Islamic subversion, these real facts can be discredited by association when the BS "revealed" for what it is.
