Physics Group Splinters Over Global Warming Review

As the science scandal known as ClimateGate grows, the largest U.S. physicists' association is finding itself roiled by internal dissent and allegations of conflict of interest over a forthcoming review of its position statement on man-made global warming.

The scientist who will head the American Physical Society's review of its 2007 statement calling for immediate reductions of carbon dioxide is Princeton's Robert Socolow, a prominent supporter of the link between CO2 and global warming who has warned of possible "catastrophic consequences" of climate change.

If it is science based, then they should be able to have a scientist from a completely other field of research to assess the situation.

Instead they are insisting on people whose livelihood is tied to the current theory of the day.

I’m a member of an APS member society and also the American Geophysical Union. The leadership is pro AGW and the AGU even has polar bears on their info pages. These guys need to be humbled big time. (I’m not a scientist and while my ties to the APS are professional, I’m an AGU member because I am interested in atmospheric electricity and radio propagation.)

You know the deal with cockroaches? if you see one then there are thousands more you don't see. That's what this Climategate scam is. One of the visible cockroaches . You can bet your bottom dollar all kinds of back alley double dealing are depending on this travesty to pass. Since money is being set up to flow into foreign hands I predict right here and now that a nice chunk of Obama's campaign funds came from other members of the Carbon Mafia hoping to cash in. This corruption is deep and history will only discover a fraction of it.

The "scientists" who perpetrated the global warming fraud approached their science in exactly the opposite manner as the approach described above. They formulated a theory and then did whatever they had to do with their data in order to "prove" it.

What the world has now seen with the expose of the "global warming" scam puts a new spin on the old saying: "Figures can lie and liars can figure." The discipline of science has taken a massive hit over the past two weeks and it could take years for science - - and scientists - - to regain credibility with the public.

I cannot help but wonder what percentage of scientist, chemist, engineers, geologist, etc., have really sat down and studied what scarce evidence has been brought forth over the years as how such a minuscule percentage of the total atmosphere CO2 gas represents could in any way effect any gross change in temperatures within the oceans and land masses.
Just because the head of some society may support this crap does not mean the science was given a solid peer review by their membership.
