In any society there are always going to be people with "real grievances." In a democratic constitutional republic such as our own, there are also always going to be people who offer answers to those grievances. That's how democratic systems work.

That's pretty much where the similarities end. Just because people are offering answers to perceived problems doesn't mean the people in question are like Nazis. Chomsky is making a very silly analogy that is simply intended to silence those with whom he disagrees and little more than that.

It's rather pathetic. For some reason, I'd actually expected more from this putrid waste of slime.

He admits this “analogy isn’t close” to reality, but “it is frightening.” Chomsky appears to be verbalizing a bad dream or a recurring fantasy.

Ask 99 out of any one hundred people who Noam Chomsky is and you will get a blank stare. The only people who think he is important are those members of the chattering class and they are few in number.
