You really do get it - I’m encouraged.

Of course it’s not the color of the skin or the genetics.

It’s the culture. And if that culture doesn’t move into the mainstream, there will be more and more deadly clashes.

I can only imagine the grief that “mainstreamed” blacks take from those who refuse to integrate into American society. I just hope they have the patience and courage necessary to get their point across.

Yes, there has been a stress within the black community about that for generations. I don't think it's any different for any subset of America.

But, when a black person makes a conscious choice to purposely disconnect from their isolationist racial culture, and realign their lives within mainstream America, they normally don't make any more contact with the black community than anyone else in the mainstream.

Take my parents, for instance. They fit that description. The only time they've ventured into the black community in the last few decades has been to visit with relatives. And at their age, those occasions are few and far between for them.

As a matter of fact, I'd say that less than a quarter of my family members live in what you could call a traditional black community. Now, not all of them have made a conscious choice to disconnect from the black community, but some have, albeit very quietly.
