They all voted to table Nelson Amdt. No. 2962, the crux of which is:
(b) Limitation on Abortion Funding.--(1) IN GENERAL.--No funds authorized or appropriated by this Act (or an amendment made by this Act) may be used to pay for any abortion or to cover any part of the costs of any health plan that includes coverage of abortion, except in the case where a woman suffers from a physical disorder, physical injury, or physical illness that would, as certified by a physician, place the woman in danger of death unless an abortion is performed, including a life-endangering physical condition caused by or arising from the pregnancy itself, or unless the pregnancy is the result of an act of rape or incest.
Funny thing is, they could have all voted to NOT table the amendment, and the amendment still would have been killed (on a 51-48 vote). I expect Landrieu will make a speech wherein she explains "confusion," that she thought she was voting to pass the amendment, not table it.
Anyone who thinks THAT amorphous piece of crap would block abortions has rocks in their heads...the willing doctors (like TILLER) would come crawling out and testifying that if the procedure wasn't performed, the mother MIGHT die, etc, bullshitter's bullshit...it's all theater, anyway...
AND NOW WE HAVE GIVEN THEM THE FIELD BECAUSE WE ARE ARGUING ABOUT INCLUSION OF ABORTION, WHICH IS PRETTY MUCH CONCEDING THAT THE BILL IS GOING TO PASS...
Way to keep your eye on the ball, Pubs... IT'S ABOUT KILLING THE BILL, YOU MORONS, NOT NEGOTIATING YOUR SURRENDER...
Lincoln must be giving up on reelection. Pryor voted for it.
