Climategate: Barack Obama's rule by EPA decree is a coup d'etat against Congress, made in Britain
The Telegraph ^ | 12/8/2009 | Gerald Warner

Posted on 12/08/2009 6:28:53 AM PST by markomalley

Who needs tanks on the lawn when you have the Environmental Protection Agency? Barack Obama’s use of the EPA to pressurise the Senate to pass his climate change Nuremberg Decrees shows his dictatorial mentality. He wants to override Congress, which is hostile to his climate gobbledegook because it is representative of the American electorate, and sideline the nation’s elected Senators by ruling by decree, courtesy of the EPA. This is a coup d’état.

And what is the justification for this undemocratic action? The allegedly imminent threat from “Anthropogenic Global Warming”. There is always a supposed threat, when tyrants take the stage. The President of the United States has just reduced his moral authority to the level of any Third World dictator heading a “Government of National Emergency”. Fortunately, the world’s leading democracy, which he is trying to subvert, has guarantees of liberty so deeply embedded in its Constitution that US citizens are well placed to fight back.

(snip)

Obama hates America and, increasingly, that sentiment is being reciprocated. This is a socialist, World Government putsch. Have the American people the resolution to resist it? We shall soon know.

>> US citizens are well placed to fight back.

That place begins in head and heart. If we were well placed to fight, 0bama would have been hauled out of the White House months ago and tossed on the rails for a trip to Chicago or the federal pen. Marie Antoinette too.

Let him do it. The resulting white-hot fury will ensure his rapid removal from office.

And not a moment too soon.

Yes, Biden's a complete doofus. But he's not a freedom-hating closet Muslim Sociopath.

Your post reminded me of something.

If the subject of Sarah Palin and “foreign policy” comes up with any of your lib acquaintances, you can say

“Well, Sarah Palin inherently has a distinct advantage in foreign policy over Barack Obama... she actually likes her country.”

“Have the American people the resolution to resist it? We shall soon know. “

No!

I present as evidence:

Ask people you meet about Climategate. I bet you’re likely to find barely 40% of the people you talk to are even vaguely aware of Climategate.

Ask people you meet about the EPA ruling on CO2 being harmful to humans. Ask them if they are aware, and if they are do they know the implications, (subverting Congress’ role in government, draconian regulaiton of business, shrinking an ailing economy, more business flight to China... etc.). I bet 20% of the people you talk to would even have the beginnings of a clue.

Ask people you meet about Tiger Woods’ latest troubles. I bet 90% can give you complete details about the whole mess.

We are in deep trouble.

This is exactly what it is. And he's already done it.

And the threads on FR about it had only a handful of posters - unlike the multiple heavily viewed and commented threads about an ambulance showing up at Tiger Woods' house.

Indeed we do - and we may have to show the politicians our willingness to do so.

Even during the Revolution it was a small dedicated core that got things moving. I still am optimistic.

“I still am optimistic.”

That makes one of us. I believe that next year, I’ll be acquiring a firearm.

I was pretty astounded by this piece of news. Never thought that a POTUS would govern ‘by decree’, and pass by democratically elected entities. When was the last time something like this happened?

Already have half a dozen. Still need a shotgun though, and I really want an HK USP (Jack Bauer’s weapon of choice!).

And why does it take a foreign (Brit) newspaper to ring the alarms? Oh, that’s right, ours is in the tank for this dictator.

Even during the Revolution it was a small dedicated core that got things moving. I still am optimistic.

We just recently read that during the Revolution 1/3 of Americans were royalists/statis quo, 1/3 were oblivious, and 1/3 fought for liberty.

I just don’t know where to sign up!

The first few comments following the article:

As a Brit, I am unbelievably jealous of the American Constitution. It is a work of art, giving true democracy and power to the people. Those who drafted it knew all too well how governments sour, and how totalitarianism devours. I just hope the American people will stand firm to defend it, while there is time left...

Obama has lost the plot. He has nailed his true colours to the mast of a fast sinking ship. His next illogical step? Pronounce water (vapour) as an Endangerment to Human Health. Its a greenhouse gas after all. The guy is a fruitcake. America, Wake up.

Couldn’t agree more. Obama has set the USA back a 100 years and not for the good of the people. The Democrats are falling apart. US & UK manufacturing has been killed by the severe curtailment of CO2 in such a short term. Now they are targetting the agricultural industry and consumers who eat meat or dairy produce. Obama is a socialist, the loons at the UN and Nobel Foundation are his ally. Meanwhile China says “no” to the IPCC and continues to develop at breakneck speed. China and Saudi Arabia by rejecting the IPCC full on are doing more for democracy than Brown and Obama.
