Two Navy SEALs arraigned Monday on charges of mistreating a suspected Iraqi terrorist were buoyed by a public display of support outside Norfolk Naval Station, where they are scheduled to be court-martialed next month.
About 100 supporters, some from as far away as Texas, gathered outside one of the base’s main gates to protest charges against three men. They carried flags and held signs reading “Save our SEALs” and “Is this America?”
There was no controversy inside the courtroom where Capt. Moira Modzelewski, a military judge, took less than an hour to formally arraign two of three accused commandos: Petty Officer 1st Class Julio Huertas and Petty Officer 2nd Class Matthew McCabe.
McCabe, 24, was charged with assaulting Ahmed Hashim Abed by striking him in the midsection with his fist. He is also accused of dereliction of duty and making a false statement to the investigator who interviewed him about the alleged assault

What rediculous crap!! Guys who put their lives on the line for their country, and their country gives them the middle finger. Absolutely disgraceful...but I guess that’s what happens when a country turns communist.
People used to criticize the old time “brown shoe” cops for always having a “drop” gun with them.

Why are people thinking they are innocent if they made a false statement???? They can throw out all the other charges, but false statement? Someone explain that one to me...Isn’t one of the commandments “Thou shalt not lie”?

Yep. Part of the process is ripping out vestiges of the old guard, in this case, neutralizing the military.
I never, ever thought I’d see the day in which the U.S. government would value the word of a terrorist over a member of the nation’s Armed Forces.
I served 28 years (including the wandering darkness of the Carter and Clinton years) in the Air Force and retired in 2004. I thank God regularly that I never had to call this POS my “commander-in-chief.”

Who says he made a false statement? The government that is PERSECUTING the best of the best...that's who! If you're so damned willing to send a Seal to prison for this then maybe we should call the whole f*cking thing off and you and you bible study group can go to Afghanistan and sing Kumbayah to the Taliban and al Queda!
