More and more I am trying to figure out exactly what it is that the feds in Washington do for us, other than maintain a federal military?

The things they do against us have become way too numerous to count.

It is increasingly apparent we have met the enemy, and it is them!

Our individual states are supposed to be the buffer between us and big, intrusive federal government. Also, where are the individuals in Congress who will go toe to toe with some of these big fat bullies? Other than Joe Wilson, is there anyone in D.C. with enough testosterone to unabashedly stand before the people and expose the lies, corruption, and agenda? For example, when the Dems say that the Repubs are the party of “No” and have never presented a healthcare plan, why don’t Republicans produce an infomercial-type program and air it on any channel that will accept it? At the beginning of that program, a spokesman should say the following:

“The Democrats falsely claim that the Republicans have not presented a healthcare plan. In fact, they know that we DO have a plan. They have rejected our plan because it shuts THEM out of the picture. It prevents THEM from controlling your life. Because Republicans are banned from closed-door meetings, we are now presenting our plan directly to the American people. Our plan will not allow a ponderous bureaucracy to come between you and your doctor. It will not bankrupt the country. We begin with insurance portability . . .”

There are too few that are willing to stand up and say

“The Left fully intends to control every aspect of your life. ‘Healthcare reform’ and ‘cap and trade’ are just their methods of doing so.”

There is only one thing that the Feds can't do, that is to leave us alone.

Step one, stop withholding taxes. Make it illegal.

Step two, states should require all citizens to stop paying the feds,

Step three, secession.

But the empty suit wold have to sign off on any changes to law. That won’t happen. If Congress turns over, Republicans will have to simply defund the EPA entirely until they rescind their oversight of CO2.

"You’re right - it has to happen at the state level, with states refusing to comply, refusing to turn over income taxes revenues, and declaring their sovereignty. THEN we may have to “pick up guns and go fight” when the feds attempt to use force to make the states comply."

I have been a States Rights advocate for years. I've posted a number of articles and replies here on Free Republic regarding what I call: STATE NULLIFICATION. I'm not talking about secession, I'm talking about the States just telling DC enough! We will no longer comply with the blatant usurping of our 9th and 10th Amendment guarantees.

If just (3) States picked one or two unconstitutional issues and worked together, I firmly believe DC would have to re-think its polities. If those (3) States refused to forward income tax receipts to the Fedgov, there would be little DC could do about it, other than with hold distribution of Fed funds.

There would be NO invasion by armed forces; this is not the 1860's. DC would not have the stomach for it nor the support. They would try every other means possible to make those States comply (lawsuits, bribes, extortion, harassment, audits, etc.), but there would be NO force of arms.

Now is the time for a States' rights movement. A number of States have recently passed resolutions (not legislation) to reassert their rights. Others have such pending. Montana and Tennessee have passed laws exempting intra-state gun manufacturing and sales in contradiction to Federal law. I believe Texas and Louisiana are looking at doing the same.

The time is now for: STATE NULLIFICATION.

But what state will do it? Who goes first?

Virginia. That's why I voted for Bob McDonnell; he's got both the character and the ability to stand up to the Feds.
