It is the joke told by Sarah Palin on Saturday at the Gridiron Club that has spread far and wide. It was featured by many websites and news outlets including Politico and U.S. News & World Report. Here is how the Associated Press reported the joke:
Palin targeted her hosts, Democrats and Sen. John McCain's campaign staff, as well as herself.
If the election had turned out differently, she said, "I could be the one overseeing the signing of bailout checks and Vice President Biden could be on the road selling his book, 'Going Rogaine.'" Biden has sparse hair.
For your humble correspondent, the most fascinating thing about this joke was how it came into being. You see, it was born on my DUmmie FUnnies blog and the person who brought it to life was my DUFU "co-conspirator," Charles Henrickson.

Will "Warmerful Copenhagen" be next to go viral?
PING!
FYI
I always KNEW Sarah was a Freeper...:)
She visits C4P all the time, she also said that she visits many Conservative sites..so Sarah, if your online right now, HOWDY!!
When I met Sarah @ Cincinnati she commented on my shirt (which said on the back Sarah Palin - the FReeper’s Choice in 2012), which gave me the opportunity to tell her she was loved on FR and she said she LOVED FR and visits the site several times a day...just as an FYI.
Nice punchline, but I do not think the idea of Sarah signing bailout checks is particularly funny.
That’s the best news I’ve heard all day.
Everyone should have someone reading the Free Republic all day. Sean Hannity does, so does Rush. Wouldn’t surprise me if FOX had a dedicated employee for FR. Sarah should too. It’s the best way to stay on top of what’s important.
Nothing like a FReeper thread to shed light on a tough issue, ferret out truth, or poke fun at what should be ridiculed.
Heck, if not for the land of the FReepers, I'd probably think I was the sole conservative left on the globe...(picture Charlton Heston on the beach at the end of Planet of the Apes...).
Oh, and I'd also think I was the only person who liked Palin!
Line forms to the rear pal ;)
Note to Sarah.
We bought two copies of your book.
My 9 year old got first dibs.
I had to pin the 12 year old to get the other book. AND that was not easy. She’s taller than me!
Woot!
Oh how cool to hear! YIPPEE!:)
Henrickson strikes again!
I don't know, PJ, but here it is, with the music link to sing along!
WARMERFUL COPENHAGEN
Tune: "Wonderful Copenhagen"
Warmerful, warmerful Copenhagen
Climate gatekeepers in town
We will say it's hot
Even when it's not
We will pass the gas around
In warmerful, warmerful Copenhagen
Putting the foolish in fuel
Now I'm turning green
Getting sick, I mean
Singing Copenhagen
Warmerful, warmerful
Copenhagen is cool!
I flew on my private jet
To pay off my climate debt
Meeting Algore for cocktails today
And there he stands, waiting for me
With a welcome so warm if I pay
Warmerful, warmerful Copenhagen . . .
Warmerful, warmerful Copenhagen
Climate gatekeepers in town
We will say it's hot
Even when it's not
We will pass the gas around
In warmerful, warmerful Copenhagen
Putting the foolish in fuel
Now I'm turning green
Getting sick, I mean
Singing Copenhagen
Warmerful, warmerful
Copenhagen is cool!
I don't normally encourage vanity posts but I'm doing so now. Your post on Sarah Palin's comment that she reads Free Republic daily just needs to be brought to the attention of the Freeper Community. So go for it. Give the post a title like "Sarah Palin if a Freeper - Here's Proof" or something like that. A thread like that would get a lot reads. It would be a pat on the back to all of us and a source of pride and inspiration for that community of patriots that we call Free Republic.
Proud to be a FReeper BUMP!
“Drink the Kool Aid” came from FR too.
No surprise there. Henrickson is hilarious.
