EPA chief: The hacked e-mails change nothing
The Hill ^ | 12/7/2009 | Ben Geman

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa Jackson dismissed GOP calls to delay a critical finding on greenhouse emissions in light of hacked e-mails from climate scientists.

EPA documents released Monday state that greenhouse gases threaten human health — a finding that is a precursor to planned regulations controlling emissions from power plants, vehicles and other sources.

Republicans including House Oversight and Government Reform Committee ranking member Darrell Issa (Calif.) said e-mails among climate scientists hacked from a British research institute show holes in the case that humans are causing global warming.

Jackson disagreed.

“There is nothing in the hacked e-mails that undermines the science upon which this decision is based,” Jackson said in announcing the finding this afternoon. She said the controversial messages dealt only with a tiny fraction of the strong evidence of global warming.

I guess that’s what it’s going to take -

hauling these bastards out by their hair, dragging their heels down the steps,

and decorating the nearest lamp post with them.

Well, no - not if you refuse to even read them. :)

To enact policy based upon lies is in itself a lie. If the POTUS (or TOTUS) thinks he can enact such policy, we can initiate impeachment procedings if he does. This is because he knows very well that CO2 has not been proven to be the menace that the fradulent sciences says it is. He would be guilty of high crimes and misdemeaners.

You know, our parents were right!

They warned us that our brains would turn to mush.

We laid there in front of the tube watching Gilligan's Island, Batman, The Brady Bunch, My Three Sons, Leave it to Beaver.....etc. etc. etc. Yeah right, we shot back as we rolled our eyes.

How else could you possibly explain a The United States Of America decreeing that CO2 is a public danger?

Have we lost our minds? NO!!

Our minds never developed!

Inconvenient things like facts are irrelevant.

Paracelsus said that “the dose makes the poison,” using this cornerstone of modern toxicology they will want to regulate water exposure next since it’s a very toxic substance. Heaven forbid that they find out about the production of oxygen and what a dangerous element it is. I guess we will all have to wear CO2 scrubbers to protect the planet. When the greens realize we can convert CO2 to methane and oxygen every living being will have to wear a conversion suit. Maybe I should watch Dune again to get the proper feeling for what’s coming.

Another over-paid hack that’s probably never generated a peer-reviewed
scientific paper.

Otherwise, she’d know what a killer it is to have the godfathers
of “anthropogenic global warming” finally admit they’d dumped their
original data.

Thus destroying any chance of “replication”...a cornerstone of REAL science.

“There is nothing in the hacked e-mails that undermines the science upon which this decision is based,”

At least she is honest. The e-mails refer to problems in Physical Science and the EPa is acting on Political Science; two different disciplines.

To call CO2 a pollutant is just plain nuts and there is no science on earth to support that claim especially in light of Climategate.

Plus the "tricks" in the software, and problems with data from various sources.

Let the lawsuits and injunctions begin.

Unfortunately, in a mindless vote in 2007, the SCOTUS ruled that CO2 is bad and the EPA must regulate it.

For the communists it all goes back to Nixon's prosecution of Alger Hiss.

It certainly does. It also shows that liberals can never be appeased. They never forget and they never stop making demands.

By declaring CO2 a dangerous pollutant, the EPA just did what ObamaCare was going to do: give complete control of our lifes over to the government!

SCOTUS did not rule on CO2, just on the jurisdiction of the EPA. Perhaps there are different questions that remain available to litigate.

SCOTUS did not rule on CO2, just on the jurisdiction of the EPA.

Looks to me like they ruled on CO2.

SCOTUS 2007: “A reduction in domestic emissions would slow the pace of global emissions increases, no matter what happens elsewhere.” Further, the Court ruled that “under the Act’s clear terms, EPA can avoid promulgating regulations only if it determines that greenhouse gases do not contribute to climate change or if it provides some reasonable explanation as to why it cannot or will not exercise its discretion to determine whether they do.” Finally, the Court found unreasonable EPA’s argument that regulation of CO2 in the transportation sector would not make significant reductions in emissions, noting that although enforcing regulations may not by itself reverse global warming, it is the duty of EPA to take such a step in order to “slow or reduce” global warming.

Hang the EPA in court with these words admitting the manipulated "science" and not their own is the basis for draconian EPA action.
