What's become known as "Climategate" may be about to explode on this side of the pond as well. Chris Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, has threatened a lawsuit against NASA if by year-end the agency doesn't honor his Freedom of Information (FOI) requests for information on how and why its climate numbers have been consistently adjusted for errors.
"I assume that what is there is highly damaging," says Horner, who suspects, based on the public record, the same type of data fudging, manipulation and suppression that has occurred at Britain's East Anglia Climate Research Unit (CRU). "These guys (NASA) are quite clearly determined not to reveal their internal discussions about this." .hey may have good reason, says Investor's Business Daily (IBD):

I can’t wait for this to “pop”. Especially since this is the jerk that said those that spread false information about global warming should be put in jail. All the while he was breaking the law by ignoring FOIA requests.

They are at the heart of it.. driving their budget which is in jeopardy as we speak. REFUSING TO GIVE US THE DATA WE PAID FOR.
Obama and the Greens hate US manned space flight . He wants the planetary science to be beefed up and the wants the “Decadel Report” authored by the Nations Science Foundation accepted in whole. This report sites the need to a completely new set of satellites/sensors/ground stations that can monitor all life on the planet.
This is hundreds of billions of dollars.
Cisco has a project called “Earth Skin”. This is the complete morphing of all climate sensors into one network the Green Party Controls. It is Big Brother in spades.
Together with NASA scientist and a professor at Stanford they are building the next network to surveil us. The data comes from sensors but some one has to interpret the 1’s and 0’s. This is left up to the companies of the Stanford professor. Oh did i mention that he is the one who writes the algorithms for making the data into human?
He owns the companies who will be providing the software for the making of pretty pictures that may or may not represent what is going on.

Wondering why the only times we hear anything about “how immature GATE is” is when its the liberals ox in the ditch?
And so far it has and is working according to plan. Now what? They are indeed, pressing forward as intended. Father, help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.
They should have known better, but I imagine going with the AGW hype was where the money was. NASA is, above all, a politically dependent organization that survives on political largess.
Hansen spoke AGW hype better than most and was most likely good for getting tax money sent NASA's way...at the cost of the organization's reputation and credibility. Let the purge begin!
The 'hole' in the ozone layer was good for a couple of shuttle flights.
You could watch his nonverbal language and see that he and his community are hoping to hold the cover on the storm even though its likely to boil over.
Hansen threw out a few small insincere bones against Cap and Tax and for nuclear power, but in the end is comfortable with the commy leftist philosophy of “the end justifies the means” regarding ClimateGate.
So far, no one has seen any proof of global warming whatsoever. I suppose it's because there is no proof. It isn't real. It's political.
Someone, somewhere, should start a file consisting of the names of people who have unquestioningly supported CRU and Phil Jones in the Climategate matter. Include their comments along with their names.
Why? Because when this finally blows up into the full scandal that it is, the list will come in handy as a reference to people who have absolutely no powers of perception and/or are willing to prostitute themselves for a cause regardless of the evidence. One thing’s certain; they aren’t scientists.
Possible list title: “AGW Prostitutes”

Someone should tell Horner what every lawyer already knows - never threaten to sue, sue and then threaten not to drop it.
On another topic, the “Hide the Decline” memo, I want to point out what the real issue is, as many think it’s about hiding a decline in real temperatures during the last half of the 20th century.
In fact, the globe DID warm over that period, so there was no decline to hide in that regard.
However, the 1,000 year old tree-ring records that the CRU was relying upon to show temperatures over those 10 centuries DID indicate a temperature decline over the last half of the 20th century. In other words, the tree-ring record that they are relying upon to give us temperatures 500 to 1000 years ago failed to give accurate temperatures in real time, i.e., when they could be compared to actual thermometer readings!
This is the DECLINE that they needed to hide, i.e., the obviously-inaccurate decline forecast by their model when, in fact, world temperatures rose during the last half of the 20th century.
How did they hide it? Easy, they quit using the model’s forecasts and just substituted the real thermometer-measured temperatures for 1961 onward.
Once you clearly understand this, you realize that no one can possibly justify taking CRU’s temperature records seriously. By their very actions, they’ve demonstrated that they don’t believe their own model. Of course, others have been pointing this out for a long time, but now we’ve got proof straight from the source, thanks to a whistleblower who should be eligible for the Medal of Freedom from the U.S. and every other country in the world.
(And with fellow global warming alarmist, and proven data-cheater, James Hanson, overseeing the other major temperature data base, the one at NASA, clearly the alarmists are now in trouble.)
