A Florida court has agreed to pay $150 a day for a makeup artist to cover up a defendant's offensive tattoos throughout his trial, MyFoxTampaBay.com reported.
John Ditullio, 23, faces first degree murder and attempted murder charges. His trial begins on Monday.
Ditullio obtained several new tattoos since his arrest in 2006.
"They're covering up tattoos on both sides of the neck. They're covering up a barbed wire tattoo across the face," said Bjorn Brunvand, Ditullio's defense attorney, according to MyFoxTampaBay.com.
Ditullio has a barbed wire tattoo on his head and an offensive expletive and Neo-Nazi symbol on his neck.
"When you have offensive tattoos people are going to judge you. It wouldn't be fair to judge him because the trial should be about the facts, not about tattoos," said Brunvand.

Detectives say in 2006 Ditullio put on a gas mask and stormed into his neighbor's home. They say he stabbed 17-year-old Kristopher King and neighbor Patricia Wells.
Wells managed to get away, but King did not survive.
Wells said she was convinced hate was behind the attack because they had black friends who visited the home.
"They had made their threats to me before, but I thought that's all they were, were threats," Patricia Wells said after the 2006 attack.
But the defense maintains Ditullio is innocent.
Yes, they admit he is part of the Neo-Nazi compound that was located next door to Wells' home.

Well then, tatoos are facts and the fact he has them is relevant to the trial. The judge(s) that allowed this should be thrown off the bench.

He was proud to get them. He should be proud to show them off in his trial. This business of people marking their tribal affilations on their face needs to have strong consequences.
I wonder how the liberals feel about this? On one hand, they have a bona fide racist; but on the other hand, they have a bona fide criminal...Will their love for the criminal outweigh their hate of racism or vice versa....What a quandry they must find themselves to be in.
