Charlie shoulda just kept his mouth shut.
It is the same reason that USC boosters provided $200,000+ to a USC player, and the investigation stalls out longer than an Obama campaign finance investigation. But let Wisconsin (?) players get a free pair of tennis shoes and they get suspended for two games.
It isn't a double standard, since the NCAA doesn't have any standards, just situational ethics to make money when needed.
LA doesn't need a Pro team, they have USC.

Charlie could have gone out with class, and he didn’t. By the way, I’m watching the Saints/ Washington game with under 2 minutes left and Washington just missed a field goal leading by seven and Fox just announced they’re switching to another game. Is this the Heidi Bowl all over again?

LOL Clarett was suspended by the school, not the NCAA.
He is a thug and he committed crimes. He deserves to be in jail.
And btw Weis is one of the most proficient swearers these two ears have ever heard. I had the privilege of seeing and hearing him in action during Jets pre-season practices when he was the OL coach there.
Not defending Clarett, but he became a criminal after he had been totally destroyed by “the system”.
Ohio State overreacted against Clarett to avoid the wrath of the NCAA. Weak-kneed AD.
USC told them to “stick it” in the Bush situation and that’s one way to handle NCAA I guess.
