CNN: Obama approval rating below 50 percent (48-50)

Washington (CNN) -- Support for President Obama has dropped below 50 percent for the first time in a CNN poll despite high marks for his recently announced Afghanistan policy. Forty-eight percent of Americans questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. national survey released Friday said they approve of the job Obama is doing as president -- a drop of 7 percentage points from a survey last month. Fifty percent said they do not approve. The difference of 2 percentage points between approval and disapproval falls within the range of the poll's sampling error. "The poll indicates that the biggest drop in approval comes from noncollege-educated white voters," said Keating Holland, CNN's polling director. "That's one indication among many that Obama's growing unpopularity may be more related to unemployment and the poor economy" than to factors such as his strategy for Afghanistan.

scooby snack ...

Christ, it's hell getting old. I have to look up pop cultural references from Saturday morning carton shows that came along after I quit watching them.

OK, at least I was aware there was a cartoon series called Scooby Doo, and it had a sort-of talking dog named Scooby Doo, and I guessed correctly at what a Scooby Snack might be, but full enlightenment wasn't achieved until consulting Wikipedia on the matter.

At any rate, I like it!

If CNN is reporting 48-50, the REAL rating is more like 38-60.

Well look on the bright side, you know how to use wikipedia! :-) sorry to slip in the cultural reference, but I mean, it’s not like I’m Dennis Miller or anything! Scooby’s been around since the 70s!

This was a poll of adults (not registered voters or likely voters). RV and LV poll even lower (and that is what politicians care about).

The thing is, a lot of people are unhappy because he isn’t acting liberal ENOUGH for them. This isn’t exactly good for our cause.

I disagree. This is perfect because we already have the right and the so-called independents negative on him. We need him to lose his base by trying to please the independents. When he does this his base will leave him (exactly what happened to Bush when he tried to play the middle).

If he decides to go more left then he's doomed to failure as well. There are only two ways to save his butt: 1) Do a Clinton and adopt the rights policies and claim them as his own. 2) Capture Osama Bin Laden 3 weeks before the election.

IF the Klinton News Commies are admitting it, then it is much worse, much much worse.

CNN is doing this to set up a fake “popularity surge” for Hussein in the coming weeks.

Nope, you’re incorrect. These tallies don’t reflect the any disappointed fifth columnists, yet.

That will come when they realize they aren’t getting a domestic army.

This poll is too soon for the disaffected nihilist Left.

I would almost be willing to bet you’re right. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if CNN releases a new poll in two or three weeks showing Obama’s approval numbers roaring back up to 54%-55% with the accompanying story claiming that Americans are growing increasingly confident in Obama’s policies after the recent “drop” in unemployment rate to “only” 10%. This new poll of course would be designed to depress and deflate conservatives. Then again, this latest poll may be CNN’s way of “punishing” Obama for agreeing to send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan. The only time you’ll see a state-run media poll show poor approval numbers for a Democrat president is when that president makes a decision that upsets the left-wing base.

Either way, I don’t trust any of CNN’s information one iota.

For the record, the following polling outfits have now reported Obama’s job approval ratings below 50%...

Zogby
Rasmussen
Fox News
Quinnipiac
Gallup
CNN

The Annointed One has also dropped below a 50% job approval average at both RealClearPolitics.com and Pollster.com.

The Kenyan president is unquestionably wounded popularity-wise right now and I don’t see anything on the horizon that will stop the bleeding anytime soon. And I think his trip to Copenhagen to hammer out a worldwide wealth redistribution treaty based on a global warming hoax is only going to harm and erode his political capital even further.

Whenever a lib poll comes out and they post the MoE (normally about 3%), take the underside of that number and that's America's viewpoint. It's interesting that CNN's video didn't show the MoE. Makes me wonder how bad the error really is.

Rassmussen's poll nearly pegs my reasoning. CNN 48 Rass 46

No, it's because more and more Americans realize he is an empty suit trying to destroy America.

It’s okay - ratings don’t mean anything in Liberal Land.

Their big government bail out is being put together right now as we speak. :D

It continues to amaze me that so many people continue supporting this apparent loser of a President. That people can be such unthinking, drone-like synchophants just floors me.

Americans are growing increasingly confident in Obama’s policies after the recent drop in unemployment rate from 10% to only 15%.

48 percent for a liberal is a landslide. A liberal will simply declare victory whether he won or not, and it seems his policies get implemented even if he loses.
